From Journal & Courier in West Layfette

All these “sources” know nothing so I’m assuming we should be on “team meeting watch” according to this paragraph in Journal & Courier this morning:

“You'll know if he's leaving. Follow the path when he left Western Kentucky. I was told well after the fact that if word leaked out he was going to Purdue before telling his team, Brohm wasn't going to make the move. I would expect the same thing this week if it comes to that.”

If Brohm Chooses Louisville then that must mean that Tyra

has gone out and recruited the top college basketball coach in the country who had yet to win a title and the top football coach in the country who hasn't won a title. anyone concerned about his lack of experience should feel somewhat better i would think. that'd be on par with what TJ has done if not better. certainly a better start for sure.

cavaet- if brohm doesn;t chose louisville, tyra still had us in it to win it

Different idea

I’ve heard same things most everyone else has heard about him taking the job. Interesting convo with someone I trust though brought a different perspective.

He doesn’t want to leave PU, but recognizes he might not have another shot with us. He has experienced though working w/ BP ramifications of flirting with other jobs. He doesn’t want to be perceived that way.

He also told his players he wasn’t leaving, and it’s been in the media. Never an easy way to handle either way.

However, feeling is back and forth might be PR driven. Wants to portray image that he’s torn, and ability to make it easier to explain to recruits, parents, and players. At end of day, he really is, but he doesn’t want to deal with those saying he lied to them. They want to paint picture of really considering staying.

FWIW.

Foreign Feeling

Leaving the Yum! Center and going out onto 2nd Street the fans were cheering and screaming full of happiness. I told my brother I don’t remember one happy moment from last season leaving games especially in Jan, Feb, and March. It was so weird feeling happy leaving a UofL basketball game! It was so nice to finally beat a team of significance and feel relevant again!

Hats off to the fans tonight you were outstanding and hats off to Chris Mack and the team. What an outstanding effort!

Proud to be a Cardinal!

7:30 p.m. update

The basketball game is getting ready to start and any time you get all these media types together everyone starts talking... it's what we do.

Now that the first sentence is done and people have to subscribe to see my comments further...

- I'm feeling good.

- Don't celebrate yet, Jeff still has to make his pick.

- We typically start hearing from people who will be affected by any change, and that has started to be the case here. Coaches, staffers, recruits... etc. Nothing solid yet, but some indications that things may be moving.

- Check back tomorrow morning.

No matter what happens the banter has been fun...

so suck it purdue fans. no just kidding, i love the chicken you sell in the stores. lol, now that's funny. all kidding aside, either way, one fan base is going to gloat, one fan base is going to get pissed. and both fans bases will hopefully have successful programs in the future no matter what. good luck to all and let's get this over with. it's time to move forward. GO CARDS!!!
