FB RECRUITING: Arizona St. transfer has serious interest in Louisville

You may have spotted his name on the Louisville/Florida St. visitor list, but if you didn't, former Arizona State linebacker Loren Mondy is looking to transfer and holds Louisville in high regards following the visit.

I recently spoke with his dad who explained that Arizona State's situation didn't work out for Mondy after the coaching change (Herm Edwards taking over). According to Mondy, 18 scholarship players have left since the coaching change and the overall situation is a "mess".

Loren Mondy is still enrolled at Arizona State but is not playing football so he will have 3 years remaining to play 4 at his new school and is able to play immediately in 2019.

As of right now Mondy is hoping the Cardinals will be able to extend a scholarship offer to Loren, although up to this point that hasn't officially been done. Likely this is a situation we will have to let play out to find out if Louisville will have an available scholarship at the position but is worth keeping an eye on.

2019 Top 300 QB Recruit Rankings Explained + S.T.E.P Algorithm

2019 Top QB Recruits - The Intro

Having played with the best recruits in my class at Hargrave Military Academy, I realized it's not all about what we do on the football field. Even though that is the main category we grade, we also look at each recruit's social media accounts, Hudls and get a idea for how the general populous feels about this recruit.

The Blue Bloods get away with murder SMH

Texts revealed that Self and Gassnola talked about Kansas wanting to stay on the same level playing field as North Carolina, Duke, and… Kentucky.

On Aug. 19, 2017, three days before Kansas announced that it had agreed to a 12-year, $191 million contract extension with Adidas, Gassnola texted Self and thanked him for helping the sponsorship deal get done.

Self responded: “I’m happy with Adidas. Just got to get a couple real guys.”

Gassnola replied: “In my mind, it’s KU, bill self. Everyone else fall into line. Too (expletive) bad. That’s what’s right for Adidas basketball. And I know I am RIGHT. The more you win, have lottery pics [sic] and you happy. That’s how it should work in my mind.”

Self responded: “That’s how ur works. At UNC and Duke.” Gassnola replied at Kentucky as well.

“I promise you I got this,” Gassnola wrote. “I have never let you down. Except Dyondre lol. We will get it right.”

Should Louisville fire Bobby Petrino?

  • Yes

  • No

Results are only viewable after voting.

The last poll is a few weeks old now and things haven't gotten any better. So I'm curious to see what % of the fanbase is still behind Petrino as I think we can logically assume his support hasn't grown over the last few weeks.

Point of clarification - in answering this question DO NOT take into account whether or not you think Louisville will be able to afford to pay the buyout, only vote for what you think they SHOULD do.

What I miss

After finally having to swallow the fact that this team will have a losing record, I’ve had time to reflect. Remember the days of Marcus Smith and Calvin Pryor? Physicality on offense but even more on defense? We relied on 3 and outs to win games and it was very effective. As a guy who was 100% behind bringing Bobby back, I can’t believe how poor the teams we have fielded are at simple things (I.e tackling, blocking, creating holes for RB, disguising blitzes/coverages, the list goes on.) I don’t know what the future holds, but this disciplined brand of football has been gone since Bobby walked back through that door, and it allows teams to make us look silly (see GT game.) The style of football this team plays is totally inept and has no business playing P5 football.

Basketball: Is this the toughest schedule Louisville has ever faced?

Basketball: Is this the toughest schedule Louisville has ever faced?

It would be my contention it is...

Crum scheduled incredibly tough in the out of conference because - in many years - the conference wasn't that deep.

Pitino scheduled lighter in the out of conference because - in many years - the conference schedule was brutal.

This is both brutal in the out of conference and brutal in conference.

What was the toughest schedule you can remember?

Chris Mack on Radio in Cincy Yesterday

CCM was on with ESPN 1530's Mo Egger yesterday afternoon about 5:30 PM. He spoke of the transition to new team, moving to a new community and changes to NCAA rules regarding summer practice time. Interesting listen.

I can't get the exact link (I am not worth a darn at cut n paste!), but this will get you close. Just go to Mo Egger podcasts.
