If I could FutureCast this one to Louisville, I would...

I would have a couple of days ago, but around 745am, it should happen.

QB Evan Conley to Louisville.

Good kid. Smart QB. Not elite size or elite arm, but a competitor who can throw a nice ball. Would not surprise me to see him make a few plays for the Cardinals.

Also, he is an early enrollee.

Night before NSD 1

Who do you all got tomorrow after the news from the last 3 days?

It sounds like Robbins is the most likely signee of the 3 commits based on Monday’s news.
I think we keep Ty Murray as well.
Thinking Williamson might flip to the boys in blue.
I think if they don’t make Evan Conley wait until February, he will sign tomorrow.

Final prediction: Robbins and Murray Sign tomorrow. Conley signs in February. Williamson flips to the cats and signs in the early period to secure his spot.

Edit: see post 4 if you’re expecting a poem.

I finally got around to watching the first half of the UK game...

whatever Bryan Brown will be making it's not enough.

If I was in his position I would spend 50% of every spring practice day with the entire defense doing "Eye Opener" and other live tackling drills. As bad of "tackling" as I have ever seen.

And has a team physician been named yet? Most returning offensive linemen need foot transplants to get quicker feet. If we can avoid injury I think we will be "OK" at other offensive positions. All JMO

Keep Premium: Name to Watch as RBs Coach

With the report from Dan Wolken that Stu Holt (who coached RBs and ST at App St) will be coming from App State to coach TEs and ST, a good source tells me the RBs coach job has been offered to current Wisconsin RBs coach John Settle. Settle played in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons, coached in the NFL for the Panthers, Browns, and Ravens as well as coaching at Fresno State, Pitt, and Wisconsin in the mid-2000s and then again from 2015-present.

Would be a very good hire. He played his college football in the mid 1980s at App State. Years before Satterfield played and coached there.

Dwayne Ledford to Louisville?

Reporting on another site that the OL coach from NCstate is coming to Louisville, he has had 4 ACC all Americans at NC State.

"Ledford was a Broyles Award nominee in 2017 and four of his offensive linemen were All-ACC performers. In 2018 his line gave up the third fewest sacks in the country with two option teams finishing better. Garrett Bradbury just won the Rimington Award for the nation’s top center this past week, also. Bradbury was a 240 pound tight end with no other power five offers when he got to NC State. He developed into the best center in the country with Ledford as his coach."

HUGE pick up if true...also apparently JJ Weaver is visiting Louisville. I don't think we land Weaver in the end but if we do...what another gut punch to Stoops .Satterfield will have city of Louisville on lock down soon enough.

Call it what you want, but I'm starting to think we got the better hire. Take away the "hometown boy " lable and this just may work out for the best.

FB RECRUITING: New targets emerging for the 2019 class: here is a short list

All of the news surrounding Louisville's 2019 recruiting class deals with egress and zero ingress.

It's time to shine some light on potential targets to watch for who will be additions to this class rather than focusing on the subtractions.

I've done some serious detective work to put this list together and I think I've comprised a decent list of prospects high on Louisville's board. Admittedly some of these players are long shots but they are priority targets nonetheless.

Of course Ty Murray, Zach Williamson, and Aidan Robbins, the remaining verbal commits are priorities for Louisville and last I heard all three will be taking official visits this weekend.

Here are some other priority targets you may or may not already know about.

Login to view embedded media Jamel Starks: Georgia DB. Just visited NC State and is supposed to be visiting WVU this weekend. If Lousiville offers and scores a quick OV or he pushes back his commitment date, Louisville has a shot.

Login to view embedded media Jamie Pettway Chad Simmons posted this article a few hours ago discussing Pettway's top four of Missouri, Louisville, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee. All I have to add to that is I spoke with one of my sources at Tennessee and I don't believe he is a take there.

Login to view embedded media Dawand Jones - 6-foot-8, 350-pound OT who has been on fire lately picking up offers from everyone. His latest offers were Florida 12/8 and Michigan 12/6. He already took official visits to USC and Mississippi State. I can't see him signing early considering he just blew up but it's going to be tough to beat all those big time programs.

Login to view embedded media Liam Dick is a very large 6-foot-6, 309-pound Canadian prospect who I saw twice this offseason, once at a UofL camp and before that in Columbus at the Rivals three-stripe camp. Let's just say he looked a lot better at Louisville than he did in Columbus and leave it at that. It appears that Pitt is the leader here but maybe Satterfield can make a move.

Login to view embedded media Jordan is listed as 6-foot-6, 230-pound receiver by Rivals but Louisville is probably targeting him as a TE. His only two offers are from Fresno State and Louisville and he is currently uncommitted. He is from California so Fresno State has the home field advantage here, but he is a guy to Louisville has a legitimate shot to land.

Login to view embedded media Davis is a converted QB who will be a grad transfer with one year of eligibility left. He fits an immediate need. Here are his 2018 numbers at tight end with UCONN.

Login to view embedded media Garmon Randolph is a very long, very lean tight end prospect from Georgia. I have seen him twice, the first was at the Atlanta 3-stripe camp and then again in Atlanta for the Five Star Challenge. He did well at both camps so I was surprised to see he's only ranked as a three-star. His film looked fine and everything shown translates to the next level. LSU stopped in for an in-home with him in late November but things have been quiet coming out of his camp. I'll see if I can get in touch with him this week.

Login to view embedded media Brett Seither is 6-foot-5, 215-pound TE from Clearwater Central Catholic. Pitt head coach Patt Narduzzi conducted an in-home visit on December 5th. Today TCU sent their inside receiver's coach in for a visit with him and Rutgers sent their tight ends coach. I would think Pitt is pressing the hardest for him but I just found out about Seither today so I have to do some more digging.

Login to view embedded media Konner Fox Crafty move/flex TE with twitch and speed. He's currently committed to Kansas State but with Bill Snyder retiring he may be open to a change. This would be a nice fit for CSS's offense and a great get. I really like this kid on film.

Login to view embedded media Luke Baker is committed to S. Mississippi right now, that was his only offer, probably a contingence plan.

Charley Spegar 70 TD's and 3300 yards - no power 5 offer

I just watched a video of Muncie Indian RB Charlie Spegar and he looked awesome .One tough kid who bench presses 550 # and runs a 4.6 . He has 3,300 yards rushing and 70 TD's and no power 5 team is offering him and many other lesser schools are ignoring him also. He looks like the real deal to me and tough as nails. anyone else hear about this kid. Howie maybe let Coach Satterfield know about this kid and get him on campus.

My New Years Wish...

is for the new coaching staff to still be intact in three years which hopefully means they are all doing great jobs, the team is successful, and they love loving in louisville to the point that they ignore outside offers. may be unrealistic but i've got a good feeling about who's coming in and always remember, even if you shoot for the stars and miss, you've still got a chance to land on the moon or float in the clouds....

FB RECRUITING: Update on 2019 three-star linebacker Jamie Pettway

Per a source on the Louisville side of things here is the current situation:

Missouri is conducting an in-home visit with Pettway tonight. Tomorrow night Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield and defensive coordinator Bryan Brown will be in Pettway's living room trying to convince him to come back and take an official visit this weekend before the early signing period. The problem with that is he has scheduled an official visit to FAU. The Owls are not in Pettway's top-five and he is telling the staff that FAU was his first offer and I guess he feels obligated to pay them a visit.

He is also fresh off an official visit to Georgia Tech and I would assume new head coach Geoff Collins will be conducting an in-home visit with him, I just haven't received confirmation on that yet.

I spoke to a source with Tennessee who told me he isn't a take and the Vols aren't recruiting him. So scratch Tennessee.

My reaction:
When Pettway visited Louisville the first time when the head coaching position was vacant I heard rumors that he was a silent commit. I didn't really have enough to report that so instead I made a futurecast in favor of Louisville. After that he took an official visit to Missouri and the feedback I received to three different sources made me change my pick to the Tigers. I maintain that pick right now but with GT and UofL sending their new coaches in I believe things can get crazy.

If signing day was today I'm confident Missouri would be the pick. Fortunately for Louisville signing day is eight days away. If Satterfield and Brown can convince Pettway to cancel his official visit to FAU and get him back to Louisville then things look very good. If he goes on his official to FAU I would stick with Mizzou for my futurecast.

FB RECRUITING: Aidan Robbins note (Updated 5:05 PM)

I spoke with Robbins briefly yesterday. He wasn’t in a chatty mood but the most important thing of note I got out of him was that he plans to sign Wednesday. He just wouldn’t tell me with whom.

I asked him how the visit went and he gave me a very candid “It was good i enjoyed the new staff.”

He also said they’re recruiting him at running back.

So here’s what it is:
I’ve heard from a source I trust more than anyone that UK is on the fence about offering him. If they miss on a few early signing day targets then I think they may. I don’t think BYU is in play and Colorado State has been out for a while. Right now I think he sticks with Louisville but if UK offers him at anytime over the next 48-72 hours I think he ends up in Lexington.

Update: So after doing some research it appears that Robbins has been very chatty with media members out in Utah. He has been pretty tight lipped and short with local Louisville media. He also gave rave reviews of his visit to BYU so maybe I was wrong and BYU is a serious threat. I honestly don’t know why Robbins is being secretive like this. We’ve had a good relationship in the past and this newly found secrecy seems strange to me.

After speaking to a source close to Louisville, the announcement is expected to be that he is shutting down his recruitment and signing with Louisville.

Even if the announcement is something silly like "I'm committing to Joella's over Royale's" I still expect him to sign with the 'Cards on Wednesday and enroll in January.

****Update 5:00*****
There has been some cyber-smoke that Robbins is going to flip to BYU as well as chatter he’s going to UK. I just spoke with my Louisville source who said there is nothing to those rumors and Robbins will be signing with Louisville.

I’ve had to sift through a lot of soot to find the nugget of truth in all the info I’ve gathered today but I hold that Robbins will announce tonight he is shutting everything down and signing with Louisville per my Louisville source.
