ive been following Louisville sports somewhat since 2006, when my best friend in high school joined your track team. I came to campus and went to a few games, enjoyed my time there. I remember sitting there watching the WVU win from my dorm room, unfortunately also watching the Rutgers game there too, and arguing (naively) with my friend on who was better between Kyle Orton, Dorien Bryant, and greg Orton vs Brohm, Harry Douglas, and I think his name was Mario Ureta. I remember wondering if Hunter Campbell (or whatever his name was) was as good as Brohm, and I remember being confused at what Kragthorpe was trying to do. Long story short, I would consider myself a fan.

But I can’t say I’m not happy to keep Brohm, he’s been a godsend for Purdue, and even 2 more years of him might be the difference between falling back to a below average borderline terrible big ten school and becoming something more.

But for whatever it’s worth (and I understand nothing to most of you), I think you guys missing on Brohm is far less detrimental to your future than it would have been to ours if he left. You guys just seem to be in a position where you don’t need to fear turning into a team that wins 9 games in 4 years anymore like Purdue just came out of. I hope you hire someone good, and expect you will.

Initially I thought Tyra and UofL would wait until 12/6/18 to save the million if they can get Jeff. But, in the big scheme of things I don’t think you can afford to wait on that date anymore. I think you have to make a run at him pronto after Saturday’s game.

but not devastated. I do wish Jeff Brohm further success with the exception of when we might play versus Purdue OR when recruiting against him and you can bet that’s going to happen. I think he’s made an error but that’s just me. I now turn my attention, as I’m sure most of you have (and AD Tyra), to the future and the next candidate. My choice would be Neal Brown because I like his uptempo offense and I don’t really give a damn about his past at uahkay. All that crap reminds me of the attitude those fools took towards Howard Schnellenberger because he had coached at Louisville. He could have turned their program into a national power. I don’t have anything against any of the other “mentioned” candidates other than I do not want either coach Strong or Barbers. I’ve stated my opposition to both of those guys in the past and I’m not going to change my mind. If either of them are here then I’ll support them until they prove me right. There are other African-American coaches out there that I could support but neither of those guys turn my wheels. In any case, I will support whomever AD Tyra brings here. I did, in fact, support Kragthorpe when he came and he was called an outstanding choice by the national and local media but as we all know he was a terrible choice. But that will happen in the real world of college athletics.

Time is of the essence. Vince Tyra has no time to waste with the Georgia Tech job opening up. I would think VT needs to act quickly.

Hometown hero could have saved the day. The program, the fans, we needed a win. Not to be. Extremely deflating.

Satterfield has no P5 ties, no recruiting ties at this level, no staff that would raise an eyebrow.

Ryan Day should be the #1 option and it's sad if he isn't.

Minnesota HC was 5-7 last year and 6-6 this season (similar to Brohm’s rebuild at Purdue).

Rebuilt Western Michigan in four years going from 1-11 his first year then 8-5, 8-5, 13-1. Won the MAC twice and finished 3rd once in those 4 years.

Played WR in the NFL. Very charismatic, strong personality.

I know choosing between his hometown program/alma mater and his current rebuilding project must have been excruciating for Coach Brohm.

Take comfort in knowing that the deciding factor was the commitment his players (Rondale Moore specifically) made to him. It took a lot of hard selling to get players of Moore's caliber to a Big Ten doormat and having those young men count on you to lead them for four years had to be the deciding factor.

We all like to think our school and our alumni have special traits that elevate them above other schools. At Purdue we talk a lot about being a Boilermaker and what that means as far as character and loyalty. I'm sure it's the same at Louisville, and Coach Brohm displayed those special traits in spades by choosing to honor his commitment to the young men who followed him to Purdue.

You guys should be proud of Jeff Brohm today.

Is this it for UofL and Brohm or will our paths cross again. Personaly I feel like our next chance will be when his best years are behind him.

Dont waste another second, get on the phone right now and offer the Louisville Head Coaching job to Mike Leach at Washington State. He's a proven winner, he's entertaining, and currently underpaid at his current job. If he turns us down then call Boise and offer the job to Head Coach Bryan Hardin, also a proven winner and also underpaid. Thirdly, I'm willing to welcome back Charlie Strong, he's hard-nosed, he knows Louisville and can recruit players that are tough. They always have said when you swing for the fences you either hit big or miss big.

If it got us out of the buyout I think it might be worth a shot. The man can coach he has shown that. I think he had a chip on his shoulder, and now that we need him, he has the attitude that would love to come in to save the day and bring us back.
