When Scott Satterfield got to Louisville, the UofL roster only had 8 scholarship offensive linemen on it. His priority in recruiting? Change that number in a hurry. LINK: https://louisville.rivals.com/news/louisville-s-2019-targeted-beef

Louisville was looking to add a home run threat at running back for the 2019 class and decided that Jalen Mitchell was their man. LINK: https://louisville.rivals.com/news/...ives-insight-on-his-decision-to-sign-with-ul-

Question for you guys.

I am home sick today, the negative temps up here have been killing me, but I digress.Being home I was able to watch the signing day show on Episs pn and I was watching the kids pick Alabama and LSU and it got me thinking. 1) if you were a top ranked WR why would you pick LSU when they have not had a QB in (fill in the blank). 2) do you guys see picking Alabama as a cop out to being handed an ring?We know that all the stars next to your name mean nothing to Sabin its all about winning a chip.I just got to thinking how many kids with four and five stars next to their names never see the field at Alabama, when they could have chosen some where else and started right away or gotten some playing time.

Good Summary of College Basketball Corruption Cases

This quick piece by Kyle Boone at CBS is good at comparing some of the basketball scandal outcomes...at this point. It keys on Arizona to start and is based on a Yahoo piece.

Notably, in the reference to our poster child program, Boone says this:

"To this point, only one head coach -- Rick Pitino, who simply couldn't survive another scandal at Louisville -- has lost their job as a result of the scandal. Kansas, USC, NC State, Oregon, Oklahoma State, DePaul, LSU, Auburn, South Carolina, Louisville and Creighton have, at one time or another, been mentioned in the case. Assistant coaches named in the case at Auburn, OSU, USC and Arizona all lost their jobs; head coaches at those programs all remain in place."

Football Scholarship Offers -- Louisville #2 since 2012

Incredible article about FB scholarship offers. Louisville mentioned twice. Numbers that are almost unbelievable!

Louisville has handed out 2,591 FB Scholarship offers since 2012. Second most in all Colleges. Tennessee was #1.

Long Article. Read down at least to the Graph. Simply Unbelievable! You have to scroll over the various teams to see Louisville right under Tennessee.

"Recruiting’s Biggest Bait-and-Switch: The Uncommittable Scholarship Offer"

"The average Power 5 program hands out roughly 200 more scholarship offers than it can follow through on during a recruiting cycle,"

"In what is believed to be a first for a college program, Louisville hit the 400-offer mark in 2017,"

"The Volunteers lead all major college programs in offers over this eight-year stretch (328 per year), followed by Louisville (323), Kentucky (291), Ole Miss (290) and Illinois (283). Rounding out the top 10 are Mississippi State (278), Nebraska (270), Indiana (268), Syracuse (254) and West Virginia (251)."

"There’s a reason the sport’s bluebloods are missing from the top 10. The schools passing out the most and earliest offers are typically secondary programs in competitive conferences. “They’ve got to get in early to beat the big dogs,” Simmons says. “Others try to create the narrative, ‘We don’t offer as many kids, so ours mean more!’ But that’s really hard to do.” While powerhouses may get to be more selective, some schools don’t have a choice."
