The Starting Rotation (Fri-Sat-Sun)

Rock solid as it's looked in a while,I can't remember a year when it was more solid. We've usually seen something that has hampered the rotation until weeks into the season(injuries and depletion).

Barring any injuries(knock on wood) going into February,it looks like Bennett,Detmers and Miller will be the Fri-Sun starters. Your guess is as good as mine about the days, but I seem to remember Miller being a Friday guy and Bennett a Sunday guy last season.I'm not sure about that without digging pretty deep.I don't know.

I don't think it matters, but I'm sure Coach Mac and Coach Coach Williams will figure it out. Point is,The Cards are very solid 1-3 going in.

The Outfield

If there are spots that look a little more open, other than maybe the bullpen, this is it.
I think the starters here,if we played tomorrow would probably be Snider,Campbell and Stringer.

Sounds pretty solid I know, because Snider started all of last year,Campbell won his spot midway thru and Stringer played in a lot of games. If there's a chance for some of the new guys to crack the every day lineup,it might be here. That might mean guys like Trey Leonard or Freshman Cameron Masterman. Adam Elliot is another guy that doubles as a lefty out of the bullpen.

The thing is,there are several promising Freshmen that are infielders, but are gonna be stuck behind seniors. Do any of them play outfield this season, ala Dunn,to make an impact on this team.

If the regulars here don't produce,it could get a little interesting.

Catcher Position

Let me just start by saying Zeke Pinkham looks to be completely recovered and moving forward from the knee injury that sidelined him most of last season. I saw plenty of him in Fall Ball and he is a star on the rise, best kept secret in college baseball, imo.

Zeke has a rifle, was really starting to hit it late Fall and was stealing bases...yeah,stealing bases:D

Luke Hancock School of Ball-Faking - Open Enrollment

Going thru the season thus far it's amazing at least to me the lack of proper ball-faking ability for most of our guys putting up shots. It's also interesting how many times I've heard on game broadcasts where most of the announcers calling the game question the same thing. Though this applies to others on the squad as an example considering McMahon doesn't really have the crisp handles to create his own shot , and unfortunately gets into trouble when putting the ball on the floor and ends up putting up a horrible shot at the last minute at times, I can't help but think adding this to his game would help him get off better shots at certain moments and possibly draw some much needed fouls on the defenders. But again that's just me. Go Cards !

I've entered a Louisville futurecast for 2019 three-star Grayson HS (GA) OLB Allen Smith. Mark Ennis would also be writing here to express his confidence in Smith to Louisville but he's home dealing with a house full of flu-ridden progeny.

Smith is set to take his official visit to Louisville this weekend and from what I have gathered, from Mark Ennis, ace recruiter Cort Dennison is the lead man on the case.

I'll have more details on this situation as they arise.

So WHAS11

WTC is your all's problem??? They lead w/the puke's win against Vandy and NOT w/Louisville beating UNC @ UNC and giving them and Roy Williams there worst loss @ home. They talked about there win twice during the newscast and basically said the same thing twice.

Louisville's win is 10 x more important and bigger than who beat Vandy.

Walz's Cards still in the hunt for 1-seed...

Despite losing to Notre Dame in South Bend last week, Louisville women's basketball is still in the hunt for a possible 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Louisville is 15-1 on the season and ranked No. 6 in the RPI according to the NCAA's formula. They are gunning for a possible No. 1 seed, and really control their own destiny.

FB RECRUITING: South Carolina speedster receives Louisville offer, schedules official visit

South Carolina speedster Kenney Solomon was visited recently by Louisville Co-DC Bryan Brown and was offered by the Cardinals as a defensive back. The Myrtle Beach, SC prospect who possesses elite speed with a 4.36 40, 10.6 100m, and 21.08 200m times, said that he has scheduled an official visit to Louisville for this coming weekend.

Solomon has also recently received a Tennessee offer and made an unofficial visit to the school this past weekend. While he doesn't have any other official visits scheduled at this time, Solomon said that he has been hearing from Notre Dame and App St. among other schools.

Team Stats B-ball

Crazy that we are just outside the top 25 when it doesn’t look like we do anything great per our stats on the top of the basketball schedule page.

FG% - 45.5% - 146th (gross)
3pt% - 35.4% - 131st
Total Points - 109th (1280 pts)
Total Rebounds - 75th (38.3 RPG)

It doesn’t look like we are setting the world on fire in any stat per se, but we are winning ball games and important ones. This is what I like to see with this team: We are a tough out and we play hard. We missed that last year and unfortunately couldn’t win any big games. Hoping we can go on a tear and move to 7-2 or 8-1 in the conference to take the pressure off.
