Uk, Mitch Barnhart Named In Lawsuit

A lawsuit has been filed by a former UK assistant swim/dive coach and a former UK swimmer against Athletic director
@UKMitchBarnhart, @universityofky, former swim/dive coach Gary Conelly, and the most recent swim/dive coach Lars Jorgensen.

The plaintiffs allege Jorgensen groomed and raped them and #UKAthletics were aware of the complaints, adding the school aggressively discouraged victims from filing reports with the Title IX office because it would be "pointless."

Most Important Transfer Portal Question

What is EA Sports going to do about rosters in the new NCAA game coming out this summer?! I assume schools sent their rosters in already. I hope they plan to do roster updates til the season starts, or at least allow you to reassign players to different teams. This is my biggest concern with the transfer portal 😂 (Kidding… kind of)

The Wild Wild West

The past day has shown that we are now dealing with an absolute mess of a system. It is truly a perfect storm where you have young players making life decisions for hundreds and millions of dollars being influenced by all kinds of dark operators and money. We have no idea what's going on behind the scenes and you overlay that with a culture of monetized influencers, message boards and "independent journalists," it is a recipe for disaster, devoid of responsibility. There seemingly no checks and balances to the promotion of false information and narratives. No editors, legal review or financial assets to sue for in the event of an injury. There is nothing keeping an "agent," operative or zealous fan/booster from vomiting any rumor out there or paying an influencer to di the same to sway a player away or towards from a specific school. The damage is immediate and could be long-lasting with so many suitors. Why take a chance when 4 schools are offering you a big NIL deal? When you are dealing with the size of the payments these transfers are getting, the potential for absolute f**ckery is very real. Since little if any of this is public record, there is way to verify any of it.

i'm 55, never played college ball, but never finished grad school, can i walk on?

just wondering, if we're short on players, can i walk on? i have a bs degree but never finished grad school and never played any sport, was thinking i'll help the team if i could. i'm old, slow, tired, achy, can't shoot, can't dribble, and fragile but i can pass as well as any person ever, i see the court unlike most people, i can block out even though i'm only 6', and i'll give it my all until my heart explodes, which should be about 7 minutes into my first practice. buy hey, Sign me up coach, put me in, i'm ready to play 'cause it's al about the name on the front of the jersey! Go cards!!!

BB RECRUITING: I'm back... What I know

I'm back in Louisville and will try to reiterate everything that I know in this thread:

I checked in with my best source this morning, and the message was pretty simple "things are in the hopper" and this is likely a week where we see 2-3 commits. My source didn't want to put the cart before the horse, but they were very optimistic about what the next week would bring.

Here are updates on a few individual players:

- Dante Maddox Jr. (Toledo)

A source tells me that the belief is that this will ultimately come down to Louisville and Xavier. Maddox Jr will take his visit to Illinois tomorrow, but unless something changes, I don't expect Illinois to be the choice.

- Aly Khalifa (BYU)

After seeing his final list of schools, I assumed this was a clear setup to manufacture a win for new UK coach Mark Pope. After checking in with a source, Louisville is still pushing for and expecting a visit from Khalifa.

Davin Cosby (Alabama)

I was told by a source to 'watch for' Cosby from Alabama. He's a multi-year guy that you can use to build around for the future. Not sure when he he is committing, but one we are watching.

Jayden Quaintance

After Calipari's departure, I checked in with a source to gauge the situation. I confirmed the connection between new assistant Thomas Carr and Quaintance is as strong as could be. What I also was able to learn was that Louisville was going to wait and see if it was a guarantee that the five-star would follow Calipari to Fayetteville before investing time and resources. Seeing that he is visiting here, Louisville got their answer.

Would be remiss to not mention Youngblood. He was scheduled to visit here. I was given the green light to put it out. Bama swooped in. It happens. S*** changes so quickly in this portal / NIL era. Not going to make excuses, it is what it is.

More when I have it.

June 30th

That is the deadline for FSU and Clemson or any other ACC school to announce they are leaving the conference. It has to do with the timing of the TV contract. The demise of the ACC is the doing of ESPN no surprise there. They are forcing teams to leave by offering them less and less TV revenue.
If they leave expect big anti trust lawsuits from ACC members. It is said that ESPN has violated anti trust laws by having closed door meetings certain schools and certain conference leaders on trying to make this happen. ESPN which is owned by Disney are both financially struggling right now and Disney would hate to get dragged into a lawsuit bought on by multiple Universities.
If FSU, Clemson and UNC or any other brand school leaves it will be best to leave as well and go to the Big 12. If not we will be left with a group of 5 type of athletic programs. Louisville is a very attractive school for the Big 12 especially if we get our football program turned around. When Louisville football is good Louisville is producing enough revenue to be one of the top 25 revenue producing athletic departments.
There are so many variables concerning these developments that there should be a lot of twist and turns. The schools that to worry the most are Boston College, Syracuse, Pitt and WF performance wise and regionally they don’t have that much to offer. Regarding Pitt, Penn State controls much of the fan base in their state. Syracuse is basically in no man’s land they might have to apply for membership back to the Big East.
