Agree. Just cut those pitching errors in half and we are having entirely different conversations right now. There were 21 games where 4 runs either were sufficient, or would have been sufficient for a win this season for UL. Admittedly there were games where our offense disappointed, but I remain convinced that all things being the same, this UL team would have been a top 10 team without the walks, HBPs and wild pitches that we had to endure this season.
Just for more perspective, In ACC statistics, UL’s pitching gave up 307 walks, the closest was a distant second place at 277, while the conference contenders were below 200. UL’s number of wild pitches was an incredible 95; the closest in second place was almost half at 50.
Can't argue about the pitching but in some of our losses, our offense wasn't that great either:No reasonable UL fan can deny the pitching stats; the ridiculous number of walks, HBPs and wild pitches resulting in opponent’s runs tells the story on this team. This rotation is the reason we are not still playing in this tournament, pure and simple.
