Small Nate Ament update

So everyone knows it’s pretty much down to Louisville, Duke, and Kentucky. From what I’m hearing, Duke isn’t out of it completely, but it’s believed they’re not pulling out all the stops (NIL) compared to Kentucky and Louisville. Ament likes Duke though and it’s his decision, so don’t count them out yet.

As of right now, like Tipton said the other day, I believe that Louisville is currently in the lead for Ament. However, this can obviously change at the drop of a hat, so don’t get too excited, but the ball is in our court. Our NIL package for him isn’t “what they’re looking for”, but nonetheless still a competitive one. Coach Carr’s relationship with him and the family has been the key here and if the money is in place, I think Ament will be a Cardinal. Still a ways to go dealing with his agent/camp, but the ones closest to him like Louisville more than Duke and UK.

Mark Pope and UK are playing catch up with Ament, because they missed out on Caleb Wilson. They’ve made some traction with him I won’t lie, with a competitive NIL offer as well. The thing is though, Louisville will most likely be the highest bidder of the three schools and Ament’s family has a long relationship with staff at Louisville versus UK’s staff who just made him a priority.

The ball is in Louisville’s court, as long as they don’t let Duke or UK throw him a better offer, I think Ament is in red next season. His recruitment is in the endgame now so we should hear something materialize in the next few weeks. Just need Junior Bridgeman and or Kueber to make something happen and BOOM!

ESPN to continue to televise ACC sports thru 2036

Well, I think we need to fill up our stadium with our own fans. Relying on visitors to fill seats is not a good plan. I am NOT disagreeing that it would be extremely helpful if our visitors brought (consistently) enough people to fill up their section.
But visitors and good opponents correlate, which bring in casual fans.

I mean we all know several transplants to this city. They're not tied to UofL, but we could get them to come out and support the city's team. Then as far as visitors, we're a city that opponents want to travel to if they have a large enough fan base. Clemson & Notre Dame fans plan trips around coming here.

But we have tried to schedule good out of conference opponents, but they drop us and don't want to do home and home games. So it's not our fault that it's not working.
