Brohm Wants To Fix The Small Things

"There's all kinds of things to clean up, but you're going to have that now that we're facing really good football teams every week," Brohm said. "We just have to find a way to be sharper, win the turnover battle, eliminate big plays, execute in critical and timely situations, have a good plan for that as well, and be better. I just think it's a lot of small things that add up when you're facing good teams."

Are these really small things? Doesn't seem like it, especially execute in critical and timely situations...

He plays a lot of zone or at least he has through our first 4 games. I hate it, unless its 3rd and long or your dropping 8! Very average QBs can tear it up!
Let me re-phrase. I think he'd prefer to play man, which I believe we saw more of last season. I'm guessing he's not ready to leave some of these guys on an island..yet. One thing for sure, the snafus in the coverage need to get ironed out and quickly.

I think I saw Cutts pitch yesterday in relief, but they aren't handing out roster sheets or doing any introduction on the scoreboard,so I am having to do my own work with hooking up faces to names of these new guys. It's particularly difficult with pitchers since they're not on the field all the time. Tbs, getting back to Forbes...there is a reason he's no longer looking at being a two way player and that's because he showed it on the mound yesterday. Six innings and still throwing in the mid to upper 90s with location 😳 🤔 👀. It was very impressive to see up close,as I'm sure it was for the 8-10 scouts on hand.

Detmers also looked great, relying on that off speed stuff, which he routinely threw for strikes, complimenting his fastball which is low to mid 90s.

Neighbors(transfer from Cal North) is an old school no nonsense 2nd baseman, oozing with enthusiasm who's chatter is heard above all others. If you're not hearing his constant voice of encouragement for the pitchers, you're watching him make plays at 2nd that tell you he's one of the better defensive players over at that position in a minute.
Tague Davis (yeah that guy again) put on a display at 1st base yesterday, with his 6ft 3 body making several impressive stretches and digs. He's not just a hr hitter.

It wasn't the officiating folks, it was really bad game management

NDAF:
As already stated, every college football team in America experiences injuries, and true freshmen playing in front of upperclassman is not anymore difficult to understand, than witnessing the increase in Transfers stepping in front of previous starters.

Notre Dame has a huge and impressive following with great tradition, but it no longer enjoys any sense of superiority on the field. The game last Saturday was a close contest, and evidenced of our dominating win over your Irish in Louisville, I think your effort to alibi is weak and frankly an indication as to just how much ND has declined.

In both the GT and ND contests, the opposing OC’s seized on the opportunity to catch our defensive package, personnel and/or sideline confusion in vulnerable situations …… resulting in respective deep pass completions, which were inexcusable. In fairness, the one ND completion took place after an injury and substitution took place. While most hate to see it, the player should have fell to the ground, stopping the action that would give our staff time to prepare for the substitution.

Don't spend that money yet...

Why are employee credit unions spending millions of dollars on stadium naming rights?

I posed this question a couple years ago when the L&N naming rights deal was announced. Hard to fathom that a credit union member wouldn't rather have his costs reduced.

I've never seen a copy of the L&N contract, but I do know that it's pay-as-you-go. $2 million annually with nothing paid up front. If anyone has looked at the language, I'm curious whether it's a binding commitment although that might not matter if the federal government intervenes in these deals.

There's a real battle raging in the outfield with no less than 6 guys going at it for 3 spots.
Let's start with Zion Rose. What's there to say about this young man...he's a baller, with last season being no fluke. From there, obviously King has the edge, being in the system for his 4th year,he has been playing right field exclusively.

Lippe is one of the better defensive outfielders I've seen for 1+ seasons and he may be on the outside looking in as Lucas Moore and transfer Garret Pike are battling King for opening day honors. When I first saw Pike,I couldn't believe he hit 20 homers last season at Toledo. He's not as big as King,Rose or Lippe. Then I saw the swing...wow! He broke the 0-0 tie today with a 400 foot bomb.

We could see one of these 5 dhing on any given day. Freshman Griffin Crain will be a player of the future out there. He's been very impressive in CF.
