LOUISVILLE VS #12 TENNESSEE GAME THREAD- NOON ACCN

Everyone who watched the game saw the following:

1. UT’s tight man-to-man defense denied our passing lanes, and pressured the ball to a level we had no expectation.
2. UT’s superior athleticism and strength dominated the rebounding, even when we had position.
3. We missed the 3 point opportunities, largely a result of UT defense taking away any open looks, and our own lack of patience to get an open look.

CPK needs to work tirelessly on our half court offense period ….. it must figure out a way to find separation when faced with tight man-to-man defenses, as we will see it every game until we demonstrate that we can beat it.

I like Kelsey, and I think these kids will listen to Kelsey. Can they overcome the disparity in strength and athleticism? I have no idea.

UT Martin exposed us

It’s true the game was never in doubt, as UTM could not score in the first half, which is when UL got the lead representative of the final score, as the 2nd half was pretty even.

UL’s early trapping defense took UTM out of their offense and explains the first half shooting woes, but it was evident that some wide open perimeter shots simply did not go in for UTM.

Yes, no doubt that having 9 freshmen on the roster can explain some of the 21 turnovers, but it does not explain the clumsy and awkward display that I saw for way too much of the game. I expected some of this incoming class would demonstrate fundamental basketball skill and some athleticism, but I did not see it.

Jeff is so good at improving individual performance as the season rolls on, and I also agree that missing Jada could have a much larger impact on both her individual teammate performances, and the team as a whole; so maybe I am being premature in my pessimism.

Why can't they be penalized ? Makes no sense. Why isn't Army in the playoff? They're undefeated. What if they beat Notre Dame this weekend? Would that get them in?

Logic would say no, even with a win over the Irish. So how could a one loss IU make the playoff?

Army would receive a massive boost with a win over Notre Dame. Army and Boise State would be ranked very close to each other for the G5 autobid spot.

IU is being penalized for their weak schedule, but they are also being rewarded for the multiple 2-TD+ wins over Big Ten teams like Nebraska, UCLA, Maryland, Michigan State, Washington and Northwestern.

LOUISVILLE VS #12 TENNESSEE GAME THREAD- NOON ACCN

A coach that used to be here said "don't talk about it-BE about it." I like that quote

I hope 10 days of practice between games leads to practices that are blood baths.

Yes, it was only 1 game, and the second game, but... we have several more against teams on that level, and we had some red flags

I hope in 10 days we soul search and figure some things out, decide to not get manhandled, like that again.

Not just beaten badly-manhandled

I still believe.

But we have done a lot of talking, myself included, about being on the road to being "back"

I 100% think PK was the positive shot in the arm the program needed.

An old football coach told me a long time ago "you can't have all milk drinkers--you need a couple of whiskey drinkers"

UT came in here and stole our lunch money

Who's going to do something about it?

Was listening to College Sports channel on Sirus Radio this morning. They were discussing IU and the consensus was that the Hoosiers are in the playoffs regardless of what happens at Ohio State next week unless they also lose to Purdue. One commentator said that IU can’t be penalized for having a schedule with only one opponent in the top 40 (OSU).
Well they can be in my opinion because they chickened out of a game at Louisville this season. No one even brought that up.

Schedule only affects teams like UofL. If you are B1G, it doesn’t matter b

Spread check. Holding steady UofL -20.5.

I like the way we're running the football right now. It looks like we've figured out what's working with a qb who's taken a leadership role on the field. It won't be much more complicated than execution along with sticking to the defensive schemes that have taken hold over the last month- man coverage to free up linebackers to make plays and tackle.
If we take care of the football I think we'll roll over the Cardinal.
