LOUISVILLE VS PITT GAME THREAD- 6PM ESPN2

It's not been a good game for James Scott.
I have come to realize that Scott has to rely on Chucky to get his points. Edwards has tried a couple of times but his passes are not on the money like Chucky's. I almost feel like Hadley also needs Chucky to give him the ball at the right moment or space. You can't just give it to him on the perimeter and expect him to work his way into the block. I love that Chucky had a big scoring game and probably needed it to get the tough win but I like it when we are getting production from 5 or 6 guys and Chucky is a big part of that.

St. John's - Game 1

I think the key to us being a really good offensive team is the 1-2 guys getting on base. Instant disruption of the psyche of opposing pitchers and defenses. If they get on, it's highly probable they're gonna score with no outs.
Rose is a guy that will drive the ball into gaps, already leading the team in doubles. Those two guys at the top just have to be the best at getting on base, where they can do their magic.
Btw,I think Alicea is better swinging from the left side and we've seemingly run into a lot of left handed starting pitchers so far.
I do think that's a fair point about him being better from the left side. I also like Mac switching him and Moore in the lineup for game 3. I think collectively our top 5 in the lineup have hit about as well as you could hope to start the year, just have to find the right guys to plug in at the bottom of the lineup outside of Davis and hopefully Pike. I think when EKjr gets back it'll bring a lot more consistency throughout the lineup.

Chris Mack

Mack’s a very good coach, but by his own admission he wasn’t a good fit here. He said he really didn’t appreciate on how visible the HC was until he experienced it himself. I wish he and his family the best.

Agree. I think he could have grown into it, but the dark cloud really got to him. I was ready to anoint the man as King when his Cards blew Duke out and he has the Cards ranked #1 in the nation. All the behind the scenes chaos added to that, and it all did him in by the end. He was kind to settle on his contract, something Payne refused to do after his disaster.

Think about that for a minute: Mack had Louisville ranked #1.

Louisville Women are The Sixth Seed

Someone please explain why UL is 6th, as that is what ESPN’s regular season standings show this morning? UNC, UL and FSU each tied with conference records at 13-5. UL defeated FSU in their head to head matchup, FSU defeated UNC, and UNC defeated UL; so all three are 1-1 in that 3 way face off. be ahead of FSU.

It appears that UL “got the short end of the seeding process”, when examining all of the numerical available data that is published. NCST and ND tied with 16-2 conference records, but NCST gets #1 as a result of having defeated ND, despite all of the other numerical data favors ND. So what was used to determine that UNC and FSU each are above UL?

This leads me to the AP rankings, as I have yet to see any published Strength of Schedule ratings that at one time was used to play a significant influence in both rankings and seeding for tournaments. Just for those interested, no team in the ACC played as many games involving top 25 AP rated teams as UL, with 12 (4-8). UNC played 8, and FSU only played 6. ND comes closest with 11, while NCST only played 9.

Aside from ACC conference games, UL played UCLA, UConn, Oklahoma and UK. If you look at the AP rankings as of this morning, UL played 5 of the top 10 teams.

Tyler Shough impresses at NFL combine

Link to story is below, which includes highlights of his 40 yard dash. But I copied and pasted the relevant piece below too.

Biggest Winners from Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Combine

The weekend brought the big names to the forefront at this year's NFL Scouting Combine, as Saturday's action at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis features some of the top prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft class at quarterback, running back and wide receiver.

Though many of the most recognizable players opted not to participate in Saturday's on-field drills, that opened up an opportunity for others to shine, and there was a long list of talented performers who made the most of that chance.

Here are just a few of the players who improved their draft stock with an impressive showing on Day 3 of this year's event:

QB Tyler Shough, Louisville

With Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders both opting out of the on-field workouts, the question was which one of the remaining quarterback prospects would emerge with a stellar workout. Shough checked that box for himself, starting things off with an impressive 40-yard dash, and he was the only quarterback to run it at all.

Shough's age (he'll be a 25-year-old rookie) and injury history will work against his draft stock, but he's got prototypical size and arm talent for an NFL starting quarterback, and he backed up his solid film with a strong showing in the on-field passing drills. He could sneak into the Day 2 range for the right team.

Sneaking into Day 2 would be pretty good. 2nd or 3rd round to the right team could be great for him
