Looks to me that they will be in with a win over Purdue, but I don’t have any objections to the teams they have ranked above them.

Like it or not, the objection to IU was that the best teams they had played were 6-5 Michigan, Washington and Nebraska. They have played two teams tied for 7th, 2 teams tied for 11th, and then the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th teams in the Big Ten.

Out of conference, they had FIU (3-8), FCS Western Illinois (4-8) and Charlotte (4-7).

The game against Ohio State was their only chance to play a great team and to impress. They were able to compete very well for 20 minutes. The last 40 minutes was complete domination by Ohio State. IU simply could not block Ohio State’s pass rush when the Buckeyes would bring 5, or even 4 when they would threaten to bring 5 but drop one out at the snap.

They could have played us, a ranked team at the time, and made a big statement by beating the crap out of us on the road. But they chickened out, and as a result they are going to be sweating those final rankings.

I call that Karma….

But why wouldn't they? Why do you believe they're not going to? Nothing is going to happen to them if they do.

It's not about how many spots you may fall, only what you gain. IU was that high for only one reason and that was zero losses. Once they were beaten handily by OSU, that opened the door for the voters to think they knew IU wasn't the 5th best team.

They're not sitting around counting spots for these teams. None of these rankings the last few weeks really matter. Only the final ranking does. There's no rule saying if you were #5 and then lost, you're guaranteed a playoff spot.

They're not rewarding overall record or ranking positions. If they believe a 3 loss team like Alabama for example, is better than Indiana, they're not going to concern themselves with where these teams were ranked last week.
It makes the whole system look stupid if a team drops from 5th to out of the poll with one loss to the number 2 team in the country on the road. And it wasn't like they were ran off the field. It was 7- 7 late in the first half. Alabama got beat worse by a 5 win team.

I am seeing a projection by On3 that has IU at 11th, the last at large team in at this point.

Ahead of them, they have:
1. Oregon (projected BigTen champ - 1 seed)
2. Ohio State (5-seed)
3. Texas (projected SEC champ - 2 seed)
4. Penn State (6-seed)
5. Notre Dame (7-seed)
6. Miami (projected ACC champ, 3 seed)
7. Georgia (8-seed)
8. Tennessee (9-seed)
9. SMU (10-seed)
10. Boise State (projected G5 champ - 4 seed)
11 Indiana (11-seed)
16. Arizona State (projected Big12 champ - 12 seed)

Some of what you say is true, but it doesn't matter, the CFP had them up to 5th in their rankings, they lost to the number 2 team in the country on their home field. They're not going to drop them 8 spots on that loss.

Bryce Underwood to U-M, $10MM NIL package reportedly

Need a salary cap too.

NIL waa intended for kids to make money off advertising and merchandise, not just handed money for a salary. All this money should have to be justified for Name, Image, and Likeness. If they're getting paid, it can't be for play, meaning, they should have commitments they have to keep to get the money. In other words it's not just, hey come here and play and we give you $10 mil..

But the genie is out of the bottle now, going to be hard to stuff her back in there now.
I saw Shough in a local attorney commercial and he’s been the only player I’ve seen in a advertisement for UofL

VIDEO: Your Opinion On PK Answer?

The negativity in here is crazy. Tennessee is probably the best defensive team we will play all year, and they already have been beating ranked teams this year easily. That was our second game of the season and we couldn’t hit a shot. Y’all have to relax, a 15 point sloppy win early in the season is fine. You think our 3rd game into the season we were just going to be firing on all cylinders? Virginia tech only beat Winthrop by 6…. And we beat them by 15 and played like shit. Let PK coach however he wants to coach. I think so far he’s earned that much. If we get blown out every game in the Bahamas then we can discuss then. If he wants to back his players, then let him. KP all he did was blame players and we hated that.
Coaching here requires winning and the fans here have a pretty good idea of what winning basketball looks like ..

This ain't Winthrop son..
