The Cards were ranked 18th in another poll last week, but D1 is where it's at. Great to see the recognition. I've said it before. I like this team.Rankings #16
Keep grinding boys!!

Something I've noticed watching SEC basketball: zero defense. All these teams are top scoring. Bama, Florida, UK, Mizzou, Auburn- they are all top 10 in PPG. I've learned two basic things about the NCAAT: it's about PG play and team defense. None of those teams play defense. The only SEC team that plays D is UT.This.
ESPN and ALL the talking heads have
pumped up the sec all year. They can’t be made fools of. 🙄
The sec may be “the best”. But 90% of their big OOC wins came early. Some of those teams, like us, have improved dramatically. Maybe the sec has too.
We’ll find out soon.
Its said Auburn is highly upset at the possibility of playing us in the second game.
I just want to get to that game.
Then the next one ☝️
This.I don’t care as long as it’s not an SEC school. Those will be the ones getting the calls.
Bubba needs to get his ass kicked. "Bubba"? Do you any grown men that goes by Bubba? Last time I met a bubba was in the hollers of eastern Ky.I have a lot of friends who are die-hard UK fans (like TopCatCal) who have been sincere in their support of UL fans who are outraged over Selection Committee.
I must say that I find the ACC Leadership as equally complicit in this outcome, and without making idle threats, I believe there will be consequences over time to both institutions.
Hopefully our recent game against Stanford's big man will provide us with a similar gameplan. Can't shut him down completely but maybe enough to frustrate him. Definitely agree that we need Reyne if not for the fact we have become a 2 player team. Got to get Hadley involved and at least have them respect Scott at the rim. Traore needs to stay within himself and do the things he's capable of defending down low and getting rebounds.Kalk is a problem. He's a multi BE DPOY and he's super experienced. They just got done playing a road game at night in the Garden in the BE final vs the #1 D. I mean really this is a team that you could see making it to the next weekend and not just be stunned by that.
They have some spot up shooters and a stretch 4, but they aren't overly athletic. Ashworth does fill up the stat sheet he's not afraid to mix it up and if we're going to win Hepburn has to outplay him. If they are hitting 3s we are in trouble. They are experienced and well coached.
I do love our guards not sure what we'll be getting out of Smith since he's been on ice a few weeks. Maybe the crowd can be a deciding factor for us I don't like the early tip either though.
This is an 8/9 so it's a total toss-up but we may have been in a toss-up in the 6/11 or 7/10 too. If they gave us UCLA's 7 and let us play Utah St that would have been a scary game too just a different sort of foe.
We've been given a ton of coverage it's hard to say how a team is going to react to that.
Ultimately, it's been a fun ride and I'm just taking it all as gravy. I also understand the system is massively corrupt and this seeding screwed Louisville, Creighton, and maybe Auburn too. Nice job NCAA!
Maybe to force the selection committee to follow a set rule or format to determine seeding regardless on feel good TV matchups. Throw out the consideration that you don't match up teams from the same conference and let "defined" seedings play out.To achieve what result, exactly?
