FB RECRUITING: USC QB Miller Moss Commits To Cards

Look the important thing is getting who he thinks is the right guy. The last two QB transfers were 5th year guys. You think two weeks of spring football practice is going to make a big difference how these guys will perform. You have to assume that Jeff has done his homework and sees guys who only need a tweak or two. Thats a no brainer.
Yeah I guess that's why all 32 NFL QBs skip mini-camp. Reps are reps and getting comfortable with the other guys is massive.

FINAL ACC PIC UM Standings ..Winner(s) for the year 2024...for Bragging Rights goes to....

Pushupman for overall; and ajg for best %%%%. Both did outstanding jobs. Well done folks!

Since not everyone started at the beginning and some did not pick every week...I am posting numbers of correct picks for total games pic'd with percentage of correct pics. Hope you all had some fun with this. and enjoyed the season.

I separated this ACC PIC UM Challenge into 5 groups. Except for group 1, the winner is decided by % of pics correct. So my hat is off to: Bragger of the year 2024 Pushupman, then HaydenHarris, knucklehank, ajg, and another CFD for leading the way in their group.

Here is my two cents'

Those economic realities will hit ESPN soon- they’ve already had massive layoffs. How much more can they pump into CFB when they face falling ratings? This model for CFB doesn’t work longer term. The days of multi- million dollar players will soon end. The money will simply not be there.
I think you are spot on. I know my money will not be there for them. And with YT TV rasing their rates in Jan...my money won't be with them much longer either.

Greed is the evil that will crush us all.

Pray for it not to keep getting worse and worse.

There you have it, my WAG for the ACC in this years Bowl games. With Clemson and SMU in the CFP that makes 12 of 17 teams in the league with an extra month of practice for next year...and well deserved for most of them. Good luck to them and good fortune in your Pic's. Now get to pic'n and grin'n! Enjoy the games!!!! And have a Merry X-mas and Happy New Year!

LeFors:

Your point is well-made, but I believe it is only "the quiet before the storm". Your statistics are both accurate and they serves as a solid evidence of the situation today. However, we have not yet seen the consequences of what all of these changes will evolve into as we get further into the future.

First, the ten million viewers is a significant form of valuation right now, but in all fairness, most all of that TV audience is currently free. Like most, I recall when all ESPN, like ABC, NBC and CBS, were free, but even at this early point in time, ESPN is requiring a monthly fee for Premium content. Cable is going to increase its cost as it recognizes fewer people attending the venues in person in favor of watching at home.

We are already witnessing more and more schools reporting reduction in the number of season ticket holders, and its only time before the arena and stadium attendance feel the financial impact as the donations and ticket prices must increase to cover the reduced demand and increased expenses. Some schools are already questioning their acceptance to Bowl venues as they see fewer requests for tickets from alumni and fans.

Admittedly, some of the SEC and BIG schools are as popular as ever before, and clearly "they are printing money" in most all of their revenue sports, and I am not assigning the same dismal consequences to "those usual suspects", something that explains ESPN investing so much in those two conferences. However, at some point in time, even those two mega-conferences will discover that some of their own members are not contributing ............. and the "total cost of ownership" will become a topic of concern for some of those same members who recognize their alumni, Board of Directors and fans are questioning their own Mission Statements.

Ask yourself how long can UL justify its participation in the ACC based on the combination of cultural trends and financial realities affecting the schools mission? UL is not alone, there is a growing number of Universities that recognize the challenges and the required investment to play college football, and provide sufficient funding for Title IX non-revenue sports. Imagine the cost just to transport Teams round trip to California .............how did anyone include that in its budget?

I truly hate to sound so negative and pessimistic ............I just cannot see any of this as sustainable.

English 101 was a metaphor for entry level and basic college education.

The larger point I was attempting to make -- ROI of a bachelor's degree isn't the same as someone who apprentices for a trade (electrician, HVAC, plumbing, etc etc etc). So, student athletes who go to college while playing the sport they love and are good at, aren't getting the value for their scholly and degree that they may have received in the past.

And I agree .... English should be the national language.

.
I agree though a lot depends on the major.

UofL vs Uk

I think their bad 3-point shooting would improve with better shot selection. We take a lot of tough 3s. A big part of that is that is we have trouble creating good shots. Other than Chucky, everyone else is not that difficult to guard on the dribble which means the other 4 defenders don't have to drop off their man and help.
Quick 3s as well as bad 3s. They think they have to shoot the first one they see. Draw the defense, make the extra pass or find the cutter. Patience..
