Wake Forest series

This team is headed straight to a 3 seed (at best) in a top 4 seed region. Currently headed for. 5-game losing streak. Still 3 innings. Even if they score runs I doubt our pitching can keep runs off the board.
Little bit of everything getting us beat nowadays as some of our best hitters have picked the worst time of the year to ice up.
It's not just that. In a one run loss, you can pick apart other things in this one. Smdh

Btw,I agree about that 3 seed thing.

Ok, I’m going to be That guy. Is CDM making decisions that are not beneficial to winning? Leadoff double, Moore at the plate - YOU BUNT. But, noooo. They bunted Moore earlier in the game when it made Zero sense. Seems like Dan is done amd is looking for an out. Let’s take a look at Belanger, pitching coach at Clemson (was pitching coach at uk and he pitched for UofL).

Not sure but Tyson probably could've made it to third for the triple. Put that in the myriad of things getting you beat in a 5-4 game.

I posted in another thread; this is reminiscent of Denny's last couple of years. Specifically, the team's lack of awareness and the staff's poor recruiting. These guys have been sleepwalking the last several games and as posted above Dan may have mailed it in along with the team.
Not a huge Jurich fan but he did make the difficult correct call on pushing a legend out the door. Baseball and basketball are apples and oranges; I.e. with basketball you knew the revenue would return. At that time, we could also afford to hire RP which at the time was the right decision.
Chris Lemonis is out there but I am not convinced that Josh will make any changes this year or next. As has been stated by several posters, we are a small market team. Minimal NIL and average at best facilities. Throw in we start the season playing home games when it's 20 degrees, there may not be too many coaching hire options.
I am just kind of rambling here....... Josh probably believes Mac is our best bet going forward and is hoping he turns it around.

I was thinking exactly the same thing a little while ago, running around doing last minute errands before yet another possible bad weather situation approaches.

I wouldn't count on this. Hell,he might think he can do better for a lot less.

Again,I know we're all appreciative of what Mac has done for the baseball program. I know I am. I was thinking after last year,he was probably on the clock. Not mine, but probably Heird's.

Dan was just being old school. At home, you play for the win not the tie. He didn't want to give up an out just to possibly score one run.

I do think he stumbled, tripped or hesitated between 1st and 2nd. Another baseball rule, you don't make the 1st or last out at 3rd. He's not the fatest guy.
When they showed the replay I didn't see anything like that. He was gone if he's not held up there. I mean, why not? They can't push a run across unless it's somebody getting it on their own 🤷

There were too many opportunities to score runs and he did NOT do it. If old score is lose a baseball game by making head-scratching decisions…then ok.

CDM was on one of the morning sports talk shows last week and I can tell you the baseball he was describing is not the baseball I've seen. He seemed happy with the season and results.. I appreciate everything he has accomplished here and he's done a lot. That being said, he's one of the highest paid college coaches out there and his results have been going down hill the past few years. If I were Josh I'd tell him the pitching has to be better next year and if he keeps Williams and gets the same results they're both gone.

I just think CDM doesn't have it anymore. He probably doesn't even realize it.. I don't know who you replace him with but I think the job would draw a lot of interest..

Unfortunately, I totally agree.

I'm perfectly content letting it play out. If we're gonna catch fire, what's it matter where we go. Just has the look of some recent teams that weren't doing well at the end of the season.
We could see our catcher back next week. I saw him warming up pitchers Thursday night.Biven looked pretty good. We need Forbes back to pre season form. The first 5 need to shake the funk and get going again.
Hell,we're gonna be dancing again after the hiatus. Beyond something approaching the first weekend tournament form,it doesn't look good. I guess I'll just enjoy the dance even if I lose my chair early. Lol

I agree, but catching fire won't be dependent on our coach. Watching TV cuts to cdm during the bellarmine game showed a coach who was disinterested. My take was he thought the game didn't matter. Saw the same during Thursdays game. Only listened (watched) in background today but alot of game decisions just didn't add up. Bard made the point about Baker. Bases loaded with one out and no pinch hit when he has been ass at the plate? But pinch hits for him a few innings later. More to the point, why do we have a 150lbs catcher (no way he is 200lbs) who can't hit worth squat in the first place? I Don't even need to bring up the pitching which is not up to competing with HS academys. Dan is really done. We will see the same lack of motivation tomorrow and more importantly the acc tournament. 4 seed, and an undeserved 4 seed at that. On a major losing streak and we will need a pitcher to fix that and I can't see it happening.

Yeah, it looks bleak and I agree about Mac. Idk,maybe shave the beard and head to show the team he's all in. Lol,I'm trying my best to find a ray of sunshine. It's tough to do..

I'd like to see Mac give some other guys a chance today. Never know who might bust out. He doesn't like using the bench a lot to motivate though. Gotta try something 🤔

IDK if he really has anyone on the bench that can do better. Taggert - should be starting. Hoy has more pop in his bat; but, Neighbors isn’t bad. This is all about pitching.

Idk,I just think how do you jolt somebody that's gone dormant other than the bench.Maybe move them down like Rose, who singles out of the gate.
