UofL/UK Parlay

Coworker who is a huge UK fan offered the following parlay:

UK-14 for football [i.e. he is very confident that UK wins by 2 TDs easily]
UofL-8 for basketball [i.e. he thinks UofL is better right now and concedes we will win early]

You only win if both win.
Is this a good bet or not? I did not since I dont like to gamble on my team.
{It would just be for a lunch but I dont want to jinx us, lol]

Hell yes on football and I think 8 is too many for basketball. They will be healthy and have went through that Camp Cow BS that gets them re-energized. If you can get away with -10 and -3, respectively that would be much safer.

Don’t play his game. Turn it around on him and tell him you’ll take Louisville +4 in football and Louisville +2 in basketball.

That’s a 10 point swing on both games. One in your favor and one in his. And in reality that’s pretty damn close to what the real final spreads will be.
