Isn’t Connecticut in the American Athletic Conference? Why yes they are! To answer your question, 2008. For the ACC? Was Maryland in the Big 10 by 2006? If not? When they tried to do away with the “Lady” of Lady Vols their fans went ballistic. Most programs have dropped the “Lady” from their names. I just don’t see them not getting a coach with ties to Summit.

Let’s see they average about 10,000 fans a game so right around 10,000 dedicated fans. And it’s growing every year. I started following them about 5 years ago and I enjoy it every bit as much as the men.

The bottom line it doesn't appear Vince is not going to get into a bidding war and if Walz wants to leave then he will let him go. Should Vince fight to keep Walz? That is really the question. I think the perception/reality of not fighting for him is a PR problem for Tyra.
To Zipps point the shift from spending whatever to build/maintain the program to watching every penny is a pretty significant shift. These coaches never had to worry about $$$. They do now and UT will give Walz whatever he wants from a program perspective.

Pretty sure it was. Your football HC was on the list of the coaches we want to steal? If we never offered him (a year ago when we had an opening), why would we attempt to steal him now?
I expect this to be a Calipari special where he just uses the news for a raise. UofL athletics may not have a billion dollars but even if Jeff was given a 500k raise there are enough rich ppl in the city that Tyra can raise that amount from. If not we have bigger issues
