Hickman-Camp Fund now down about 75% since mid-2017...

"Vince" is doing what "Vince" knows best which is wring money out of an operation.

What "Vince" is not doing are the things that GROW the operation. Most of that is centered around marketing and fund raising. Unfortunately, penny pinching is not what a top shelf college athletics department does. He's discovering the consequences of that the hard way, which is why a large endowment like the HCF is just about gone.

And that's why it's increasingly obvious that "Vince" is/was a bad fit. Some of us had that concern when he was given the job--especially on the heels of a management team (Jurich & Co.) that was so good at the right stuff...

And so bad at the moral integrity and not cheating stuff.

First thing that St. X ever taught me was that your reputation is invaluable ....once that is, or has been compromised, it is hell to get it back if ever.

You seem to have forgotten that, never learned it or dismiss it as irrelevant ....or is it just me that sees that.

There is more, much more to the right stuff than just making money. Reputation and integrity matter too and are hard to quantify also....you either have it or you don't....when you are perceived as not having it....well a lot of other areas suffer for lack of it. You know what I mean.

Your AD is first and foremost a fanboy...

Hmmm.
You adore everything Jurich.
You blame Tyra and the clowns, as you call them, for everything .
Tyra is really a UK fan because you keep posting a picture of him and Matt Jones.
You are, it appears, an ego maniac.
Your avatar is a picture of Jurich.
So with this evidence, I may develop a chart that no one cares about but that support my views as to why you and Jurich are the same person.
Does anyone have a picture of Jurich and Zipp together? Or a picture of Zipp and Jim from Tuscaloosa for that matter.

St. X taught me a few things as well. One was the definition of cause-and-effect.

Jurich & Co. are long gone, and I wish people would quit talking about him. "Vince" is in the big chair now. It strains all elements of logic that (a) people recognize Jurich & Co. were at fault, and (b) they're withholding money and support from "Vince". St. X taught me that makes no sense.

What I learned since leaving St. X is that most things in this world can be quantified and distilled down--in some way, shape, or fashion--to money. Without as much of it, our athletics programs will start sucking wind.

"Vince" didn't attend St. X, but that's the only pass we should give him. And he's not 19 years old anymore...

Another attempt to mis-characterize me. I wish people would quit harping on the past. We have major financial problems in the present, and ONE guy to address those...

Zipp only understands numbers outside of that forget about it. TJ never had to operate under the dark cloud that Vince has. And just what growing is needed. We’re in the sustainment phase and up keep.

Our reputation is blown period. I like some of what Zipp has mentioned. I didn’t believe TJ should have been fired, but I have plenty of friends who thought he should have been and that we needed a new start. And I completely understand that view and really can’t argue with it. And I think Vince has done a stellar job, but there’s room for improvement. Heck TJ was to trusting to his demise. I personally think TJ firing was a political move having little to do with UofL and more to do with the Yum. But he’s not coming back, and I doubt he would want too. And I highly doubt Mark Jurich would want too, nor do I believe that’s a good idea.,The banner well it’s not going up unless the players win their case. And I think much of that comes from the fact we still have the hammer hanging over our head; Adidas deal. Johnson paid $1500.00 to a recruit, that’s about as bad as it gets. And we were on probation, so why poke the bear. Especially an unstable bear like the NCAA. So none of what Zipp stated is truly doable. Except maybe giving Jurich his accolades, which in time should and will happen. But it’s just to soon I’m guessing.

I do think if Ole Man Grissom would be shown the door it would go a long way of settling things down.

This! And the rest of what you said is spot on too.

Some here, mainly Z, Live in an' Alternative Universe' as they just do not understand what integrity and morality mean to those folks that have it and try to live by it. It is likely they choose not to understand or live by it as it is a foreign concept to them.

Some of us feel that the definition of integrity supersedes the definition of cause and effect. Reputations soiled are not good and hard to make good again.....that is an indisputable universal concept. For those of you that disagree with that.....we can agree to disagree. Your reality is not my reality thank goodness.

Integrity and virtue don't put money in the bank, and they're eye-of-the-beholder criteria anyway. I couldn't care less what the NCAA considers virtuous, and I believe most people feel that way. That's an excuse for our choir boys to keep underperforming.

Even if, for example, Mark Jurich can't be recruited back, you ask him anyway. Better to be seen as doing what would heal old wounds than handicapping your success at that. If fans and donors regard it as positive, who cares whether Mark Jurich and Rick Pitino like it? That ain't the objective.

Too many people wanna give excuses for people like "Vince". And that's IN ADDITION TO those in charge not understanding what needs to be done or attempted. Until people start getting held accountable and recognizing what they need to do, our money problems will continue unabated...

Mayo:

Nyet. Money is the root of all evil....you have heard that before.

What you care about IRT to integrity and morality speaks to your own character and we know you don't care. So sad.

Your believing that most people feel that way reinforces just how far out of whack your moral compass is...is you even have one.

UofL's reputation is worth far more than any 'money' and how you make it...or solicit it.....It is going to take a long, long time to regain some semblance of a 'sic, good reputation' in the future.

Jurich, and Petino and Petrino all played their role in causing injury to the reputation due to their lack of integrity and bad behavior.... which has been hashed over and over on this board.

Its no fun to have to clean up someone else's mess....and it will take as long as it takes. Agree that Grissom needs to resign, or be removed to get over the hump. Then whether it's Tyra or another AD the big money folks may come back if they ever do decide to come back. I am hopeful that it will. But if it don't....there will be more than Tyra that is holding it back. Much of what you have said in the last 18 months is very true.....some is a version of the truth and some is the actual truth... and some is way out there. The members of this site who read you still will decide on what they see as the truth.;) Agree to disagree my man.o_O

You're up on that moral high ground with a handful of other regime apologists. No one except the excuse makers is still talking about integrity. You're playing a sad, old song that's simply stalling for time.

Not to mention you're making excuses for scumbags. These are the same people who are kicking the money can down the road and forcing people like me to unearth their financial escapades. The same group who was willing to evade liability with Jurich by branding him as a sex predator. Yeah, you're choosing real nobility there.

I'm not alleging you're anything like that--just a little naive seeing it in some and not others. Open your eyes...

I don’t get in the habit of bragging on Louisville fans very much. But dang you guys sure do have the virtue of patience.

It's not patience. It's some combination of hope, denial, and alibis...

It sometimes continues to astound me how many people on here know so little about big-time collegiate athletics.

For better or worse, trying to run and advance an elite athletic program on the cheap doesn't really work. Our previous AD knew that. The current one (and his handlers), not so much.

JP

Doesnt Tyra report to the ULAA board, who in return, must get approval from the Academic side to spend money.

Jurich ran things carte blanche, which made him enemies.

Nah dude. I was saying that the fans on this board are super patient with you and all the Jurich and “Vince” stuff. It’s day in and day out for like a year. Fascinating to watch

M: My eyes are wide open. You ought to take your own advice and take a really long look in the mirror.

It is a matter of perspective and values as to who the scumbags are in these last 3 or 2 years scenario.

M: Sad and total nonsense. If you were honest....you would admit it. You perpetuate lies as half truths or your version of the truth. What you say is an apologist is a realist in touch with reality. What does the rest of the country see about this sordid time in UofL's history?

My advice for you: Seek professional help. Your obsession is not healthy.

When the underperformance ends and/or when people see the light, I'll shut up about it...

I appreciate the unsolicited psychoanalysis. But none of that advice does what you should care about in this thread, which is ensure the long term stability of your athletics program. "Vince" is eroding it everyday...

Z you made many references in regards to "clean" or "not clean" with Mack 's recruiting...and how important it was to you that he be clean. But here you are minimizing the importance of integrity on this topic, in fact, scoffing at it when Mayo introduces it here.

Being clean matter to you or not?

BTW, I forgot about "Vince" and U of L continuing to play VJ King around allegations of pay-for-play. AND choosing not to self impose this year or last after the FBI stuff broke. How's all of that square with Mayo's standards for honesty and integrity?

Since you asked, I don't care whether a kid like VJ gets money for signing with an adidas school. But the NCAA does, as does U of L. We're talking bureaucrats and big money, not actual virtue and integrity as Mayo's trying to.

Most of this is about staying out of trouble which Pitino couldn't do in the end. He couldn't manage his situation. He was as virtuous as his LPT counterpart and the coaches at most other P5 schools. Keeping control is the issue in the end, not morals. It's kind of a joke that sanctimonious fans wanna overlay that on big time college basketball...

Why do you use quotation marks for Vince? Is that not his real name?
It's the fanboy, drinking buddy reference for a REAL guy. In lieu of someone who can astutely run an athletics department, that's what our AD is now...

Well those alleged sanctimonious fans took it on the chin as fans due to rule breaking by leaders, so I can't go too hard on them for admiring a potential ray of straight.

You share their concerns you are just demonstrating a different street to same driveway.

"Be clean" with recruiting aint much different than somebody else liking integrity from "your" leader. "Your" AD "Vince!!!"

They want to win without cheating. So do you.

I wanna win and not take too many shortcuts that might get me in trouble. I'm not stupid enough to believe that a lotta garbage goes on outside the lines.

Mack's paid handsomely to navigate minefields. He'd better get that job done, not necessarily qualify as a boy scout leader. "Clean" means stay outta trouble.

And when someone wants to claim that moral high ground as evidenced in this thread, better make sure you're wearing clean undershorts. It's easy to see way up there from down here.

In the context of this thread, it's also a deflection and an excuse--or at least a failed attempt...

Z I dont think they poured on the sanctimony that much. They just implied no hookers or 6 figure payouts is preferred.

Integrity
Evil
Morality
Moral compass
Sordid
Honesty

Those are words that don't leave much as far as interpretation. The contexts they're being used here aren't "implied" at all. And they're all on just page 2 of this thread so far...

Those words were mostly just Mayo attacking your character Z, and used as cliches.

Mayo's only pointing out cheating by leaders has consequences he'd rather not experience again via the collateral damage of being a fan. Having that position isn't sanctimonious.

I'm not saying everyone agrees with Mayo. I'm attacking that position and anyone else who takes it...
