QUESTION: How would UofL fans

feel if CSS did what Manny Diaz just did to Temple? I’d be livid and be wanting my pound of flesh. Diaz has absolutely no head coaching experience and it appears that Miami just took the lower buyout to hire him. Cristobal’s buyout was reported to be $10 million. I’d say that Manny had better produce immediate results or else. If this doesn’t work out for Miami they will be in far worse shape than they are now with the coaching fraternity. If I’m a Temple fan or administrator I’d be both very happy for this guy to leave and I’d be hiring a real good attorney to sue his ass to hell and back for being a major liar.

UCLA Fires Steve Alford

https://www.cbssports.com/college-b...gins-national-search-for-his-replacement/amp/

Throughout my career as an athletic director, I have maintained a belief that making a head coaching change during a season is rarely in the best interests of our student-athletes or program," UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero said in a statement. "In this case, however, it is now clear to me that what is best for our current students and for the overall good of the program, is to make this change now. While Steve led us to three Sweet 16 appearances, we simply have not been performing at a consistent level and our struggles up to this point in the season do not bode well for the future. On behalf of UCLA Athletics, I want to thank Steve, Tanya and the entire Alford family for their commitment to UCLA and wish them all of the best in the future."

VT “punked” by UC on final TD drive

VT gave up 64 yards to UC’s RB (Warren) on 5 consecutive carries for the 4th quarter go-ahead TD. UC lined up with double TEs and made no secret of their plan to run between the tackles, straight at VT. I have seen a lot of college football this year, but that was the most dominating offensive series that I have witnessed so far where one team over powered an opponent in such a dominating manner. VT was up by 3, so that series resulted in a Bowl victory for UC.

Luke Fickell appears to have taken his DC mentality and figured out a way to transfer that physicality over to his Offense. No fan of UC, but if they can hold on to this HC they will be a tough opponent.

New Year’s Resolution

You get one resolution for the new year or you can change one thing about UofL or college sports in general. What will it be?

For me, it is getting rid of One-and-Done. I have always hated the process. It cheapens the college athletic model and forces schools to cow tail to over-indulged prima-donnas who couldnt care less about the Universities they attend. The fact that removing the practice would hurt UK is just a bonus.

The Annual Sonja XMAS Poem

(Written without the aid of eggnog this season...)

Christmas is approaching and it's getting here fast
Cardinal fans are celebrating hoops and Football's class
But ask yourself "How would it go? if Santa happened to say
"Howie, this Christmas, I need you to pilot the sleigh?"

On Easy Card, on Pervis, on Gamedaynut and Rollem!
On Guardman, on Geo_Joe, on King Henry and Cap'n Jim!
With a sleigh from the Rentalman and secured with Cardinal Cash
Howie said "What me worry?" Let's do this XMAS dash!"

Jack Coffee controlling ground operations, Matt Willinger with P.R.
The sleigh got airborne! "Cards First!" was the roar!
Only 2330859 miles to cover! That's an Easy Card deal!
We'll hit Beantown for a T-Bone for a mid-flight meal.

Beagle barked from the ground, Shutterbug passed some pics around
As they soared through the air, Rollem Cards manned the ground
Zipp reported what he saw (while the rest of the board disputed it)
As Creo, CardHorn and Smithereen got news from Real2It

While Big Smythe and RobertCard enjoyed Cocoa with CardCasey
gocds
and mwatson61 were on the streets going crazy!
KevinMurphy2 told mwdcard to head to the Great Lawn
Because that where Howie's sleigh would land at dawn.

The Ladybirds greeted him! Asia shot a celebratory "3" !!
Football and baseball gathered, just to see...
Aprile and Ecarma lined the runway, lit in Cardinal red
While Mack drew a play up to land this sled.

Soaring over "the Thinker" and touching down like a hero
Howie got a "hand out" from Sowry and Albiero!
This magical flight landed! And when he finished the flight.
Howie yelled "Merry Christmas to ALL! and to ALL a Good night !"

(if I didn't name you...sorry...you must have been on the "naughty" list
and, if so...TELL ME MORE! {insert evil "wink"} There's always next year...)

Shocked . . . .

I am truly shocked that we “only” lost by 13 points. When you shoot as badly as we did from behind the arc and in the paint . . . . . We are still not a bad team. We will win a bunch of games going forward. There are three teams that really concern me in the ACC. Duke, FSU and UVA and beyond that we should be able to compete with the rest. I’ve always been very hard on uahkay and calasleazy but their game plan today was excellent. First, they knew they would beat us in the paint but they also knew tha they had to contain Nwora and McMahan and they did. They were prepared for us today. The fact that we stayed within 13 tells me that we played badly (giving uahkay full credit for that) and that CCM will have a bunch to get this team’s attention over the next few days in practice.
