2nd best college rivalry tonite

In case you havent heard, UNC @Duke.
Its plastered all over Espin. Usually i dont watch Espin unless a game is on. Need to switch to Bar Rescue. I digress.

I say its the SECOND best rivalry because they play twice and can play up to 4 times a year.

The best is the UofL-SuCkS rivalry.
Only get one chance, unless that rare NCAAT meeting.i believe theyve met 7 times in the NCAAT.

Yeah UofL hasnt pulled their weight lately, however its SuCkS' superbowl. The best theyll look all year as they flame out in the tourney AGAIN with the #2 ranked class.

Go Heels !

Football Buzz

Is it me or does it feel like this coaching staff would prefer to operate in some degree of anonymity? I just feel like there is little buzz around this football program. Not saying anyone else would do better but it just feels off to me.

Just was hoping to see a bit more media presence or promotion. Maybe once Spring practice is over he’ll get out and about more.

Another Early Spring Practice Advantage

One thing with the early Spring Ball are the two Friday high school coaches clinics. The brilliant thing is that by having the early practice, the Louisville program has a fairly exclusive stage to bring in high school coaches from all over the country to participate and watch Louisville's staff work with the players and make connections. At a time when HS coaches are looking for something to do and get out of the house and get back to it, Louisville gives them a platform when they don't have to compete with Spring Break schedules and competing programs. Think of all of the time and money spent to reach out to all of these programs when they could all just come here instead. How do you get HS coaches to come and spend time with a program that was 2-10 last year, you host the only game in town.

Confused by a certain narrative...

Ennis and Blakenbaker especially have showcased this opinion ...

I am confused by the narrative that any QB would walk in here and just be the starter from day 1.

Aside from a few headliners ala Hurts and Fields and Martell... There arent and weren't guys looking around that have fewer question marks than Pass Cunningham and Now Conley. Most of them have more question marks , were lower rated , battled injuries , lost their starting spot etc ...

None of these transfers we've been linked to were sure fire bets and they knew the job wasn't theirs from day one.

I'd rather roll the dice with what we have have and allow the staff to go and recruit their studs and develop them.

Sounds to me like the staff is pleased with Cunningham, Conley , and the walk on.

Which realistic transfer that actually looked at coming was going to come here and automatically be light-years better than the 4 we have ? I'll wait

LINK: Louisville basketball signees lighting up scoreboards

Basketball season is in full swing and the future looks very bright for Chris Mack’s program. Louisville inked six signatures and currently sits fifth in the Rivals team rankings for the 2019 class. How have these six players been doing so far through their senior season? Let’s take a look…

Coach Mack

Really like some of the things he's said addressing the collapses at the end of games. Two main points.
1. Stop falling down so damn much. coach Chris Mack harped on his players to be stronger with the ball and to use their bodies.
"The guys have got to be able to stand up when we're breaking a press, not fall down like they're walking down through a wine cellar," he said. This has always driven me crazy about Ryan McMahon but in the two catastrophe's to FSU and Duke; CC and Khwan were falling down like folding chairs.

2. Protect the ball. Don't turn your back on a defender and be strong when you catch it. He was miffed that Sutton lost that jump ball against Clemson by not protecting it with his arms and body.

No ACC caliber guards should be falling down they way we do and so weak with it. So Mack is addressing it and hopefully we will have learned and be better from it by tournament time. I saw in an article that Cuse may start out pressing so we'll see early on tomorrow night if they've improved.

VJ, where art thou?

Man, VJ has really disappeared this season. He's barely seeing any minutes and has been ineffective when subbed into the game. I think Mack may have given up on him along with the rest of the fan base. We really needed his length against top teams but he looked lost and hesitant when on the court. He can't have regressed that bad. Dude needs to eat and sleep with a basketball to work himself back on the team.

More evidence recruiting rankings have serious flaws. Rivals gives 3 stars to made up player

Pretty funny story ... high school kids create fictitious player, claim he has offers from Alabama, Georgia and others ... and the kid gets 3 stars from Rivals, and makes the 247 composite rankings.

Blake Carringer, 6'6" 315 offensive tackle from Knoxville.

FB RECRUITING: Newest Louisville commit Ronald Delancy details why he chose the Cardinals

While he is only listed as a 2-star currently by Rivals, Louisville's first commitment in the class of 2020, Ronald Delancy, is an impressive prospect that Louisville was able to land before his recruitment really blew up. A Miami Northwestern prospect (yes, Teddy Bridgewater's Miami NW), Delancy has a good frame for a DB (6'0") with great speed and the ability to break on a ball in an instant. While he may be able to grow into a safety down the road with his frame, Delancy has the skillset and athleticism to be a lockdown corner you can put on an island and completely neutralize one side of the field.

"Louisville's the school for me", Delancy stated. "Like I have watched highlights of other players and I was just sitting there like dang, that could be me. I pictured myself at Louisville".

Knowing two players on Louisville's current roster, Tutu Atwell Jr and Trenell Troutman, Delancy said that the previous success of Miami Northwestern athletes at Louisville didn't really play much of a role in his commitment here, although he did acknowledge the pipeline.

"Miami Northwestern is a very great program to be at! But I tell you no lie, Miami Northwestern and Louisville has a great connection! And both have two great programs so...".

Louisville's new quarterbacks coach, Frank Ponce used his South Florida connections to pull Delancy out of Miami and Louisville's most recent commitment thinks highly of the former Appalachian St. coach.

"Coach Frank is a great man, inspirational, encouraging coach". said Delancy.

Next Year ACC Hoops schedule released - 20 games, 6 teams home/home

The ACC released the opponents for the next 3 seasons. Next year starts the 20 game conference schedule.

The schedule is set up this way:
We have 2 permanent opponents that we play home and away --- PITT and VIRGINIA.
Then we will play 4 opponents, home and away ....
And the rest of the league (8) games one time - four at home, and four away.

The second year rotates 4 new opponents home and away, and the third year rotates the last 4 teams we haven't played home and away, to finish getting through the entire league.

Pretty clean way to get through the entire league.

Next year .. in addition to PITT and VIRGINIA, we play CLEMSON, FLORIDA STATE, GEORGIA TECH, and MIAMI home and away. Not too bad.

We get UNC, SYRACUSE, VA TECH, and WAKE at home.
We play DUKE, NC STATE, BC, and NOTRE DAME away.

You can see the entire league's grid here: http://thecrunchzone.com/acc-announ...UWx6htRI5uZ-k_ObmqmdFknq0IOjqaVX2TVLt5f9kooY4
