Mick Cronin - References Louisville and Lack of Respect for AAC

"People underestimated us this year, and I don't think that was really fair to my players or to my program," Cronin told me. "I would say the same for Houston. We've still been disrespected nationally. We've got teams with nine losses that are ranked. I don't understand it." - Mick Cronin

I would assume Mick was referring to two weeks ago Louisville was 18-8 and ranked #18 and Wisconsin was 17-8 and ranked #22 while UC was unranked. The Cards and Badgers had the most losses in the poll with 8.

IF Lunardi's newest bracketology is correct

then the Cards are headed to the Midwest bracket. Early round games are in Columbus and it's a tough draw IMO. Have to play Oklahoma in the opening game, and if the Cards win, they would most likely have to play Michigan State again. Ward is back and makes them a much better team today compared to when the Cards played them back in late November.

I would rather see another game against Tennessee instead. I just feel the Cards match up better with the Vols.

No worries though. It's March and this is the best time of the year to be a college basketball fan!!

On Hand for Duke-UNC

Since 93.9 sent me and Deener to Charlotte, we stayed today hoping that if Louisville happened to lose to UNC we'd wind up with this matchup and it has delivered so far. A couple of thoughts:

1. This is an insanely fun game to watch and fun environment. The arena is largely UNC fans but it's loud as hell on every made basket.

2. I could easily see either of these two teams cutting the nets in a couple of weeks.

3. I miss Louisville being in games like these. I really hope that starting next year with the roster upgrades Louisville returns to playing in and winning meaningful postseason games. If it's next year, we'd be 5 years since beating NC State in the Sweet 16 and almost and Final Four out of nowhere.
