Congrats Coach Kelsey!

I don’t really blame Payne because I don’t think he wanted the job.

But Former players who knew him, his mentality, his personality, his ambitions, de facto FORCED him into the job. They KNEW him, and still pushed him into a position to fail

And to fail miserably.

Shame on them. In reality they were, and are not friends. To him or to UofL.

Any anger and hostility should be focused on that group.

Side note:
Karma is a bitch. I don’t know how much Jr is affected, but Wendy’s recently closed 700 franchises. That had to hit him somewhere.

Louisville vs Ga Tech

I know. I don’t get the sense CJW necessarily tried to slow the game down. Rather, move the ball and ensure a good shot is taken. If that takes some time so be it. If they have an opportunity to run they do. Tech going into a zone slowed the game down. Tech making more shots slowed the game down - you can’t get out and run with those made baskets. Again, I’ve seen O, Nyla and Istan all run the court and make plays. Doing that well consistently is, well, the tough part. Plus, for the bigs, of they are banging the boards they should be the last ones out on a break.

LOUISVILLE AT SYRACUSE GAME THREAD- 7PM ACCN

i found the flaw in this team...they can't throw alley oops. i think i counted at least 5 failures. what a great failure to have though lol. o/w, dang these kids are ballin'!!!
Its called team scouting and watching a lot of film. I think Scott has only missed 11 or 12 shots all season going into the game. He's now 55 for 67, a 82%, which is crazy. Clemson tried to shut down Chucky and Reyne and were pretty successful but couldn't stop Hadley. Every team is going to try and stop something we do. I still think Chucky is the secret sauce.

LOUISVILLE AT SYRACUSE GAME THREAD- 7PM ACCN

Lots of Syracuse alums calling the game and in studio. We even take a back seat to old Big East teams in the ACC. Give Luke and Padgett more air time!
I thought I was going to have to mute the broadcast but Devendorf did a pretty decent job. He gave Kelsey and the Cards a lot of respect but I guess when a team goes up by 20 on your alma mater, its hard to say a lot of good things about your team.

Cards Back In the Top 25

seeding only matters to teams that can't win it all and their fanbases dream of sweet 16 runs.. it doesn't matter because if you're good you'll beat everyone. if you cannot beat a number 1 seed no matter your seed you won't win it all. only one #1 in your side of the bracket and only possibly three total you can face. so right now can you beat auburn, iowa st, duke and florida? my answer is yes, so who cares what seed we are, those assholes are scared of us now. make us a 16 for all i care and we'll beat the 1 in the first round.
So lets just look at your example. You don't have to beat all of those teams, Auburn, Iowa St, Duke and Florida because as you know the tournament doesn't play out like we all think it will. There will be upsets. You might only face one of those teams. Blasphemy for me saying this but UCLA was unranked when we beat them in the 1980 championship. Does anybody care? I don't. We didn't have to face IU in the tournament who was preseason #1 then.

LOUISVILLE AT SYRACUSE GAME THREAD- 7PM ACCN

Of course.
but if you just watched this game alone, and no others before, you'd say they are the worst lob throwing team ever. i think at least two lobs if not three were blocked on the pass alone which rarely if ever happens so WTF was going on there, another two were so far off the rim the player couldn't make the shot or had to come back down with the ball and go back up and those failed to score, and i think a 5th simply failed to convert as shooter just missed. so based on this game alone, they absolutely sucked at trying lob dunks. go back and watch the game. tons of failures on the lobs. the only one that really scored was -Ibe getting fouled and making two free throws. o/w i think all lob dunk attempts failed. so based on this game, they suck lol

Rather have Ohio State

What’s interesting is that under the old BCS system tOSU would never be in this position with 2 losses. I like the idea of ND winning because we played them nearly even and lost a close game. Frankly, I haven’t seen any teams in the playoffs that would have blown the Cards out.
This is why all the SEC whining is stupid. There is a good chance Texas gets left out in the old format. There is also a good chance a 1 loss ND gets left out in old format. One of these 3, OSU, Texas, ND gets left out.

We have to get beyond the most deserving or best teams argument. With scheduling it is impossible to determine. It is mind numbing the NFL has the playoff structure laid out for you. Stop trying to engineer sports. You have 4 power conference. Each get 4 AQ. One of your AQ can be lost to a P5 team or ND. Seed it out based off a metric system. Done.

Congrats Coach Kelsey!

Look at the bright side this year has been really fun to watch. Also, you know who is more upset with KP than fans, all the former players that made that hire happen. They know how bad it was because they actually got to see behind the curtain.

There is nothing worse than throwing your support behind someone and that person doing the exact opposite of what you expected. KP took the opportunity they gave him and pissed it away. He was lazy in everything he did. Let’s say Bridgeman was a major factor in bringing KP. The way KP treated this job had to piss Bridgeman off. It disrespectful to all those guys.

Guess what you no longer hear the negativity from the former players. KP put them on permanent mute. The former players that matter and aren’t bitter will support Kelsey because they understand basketball.

Returning Players?

You have to look at it from a value perspective. What is the actual or perceived value of a player? The key guys like Johnson and Pryor will others throw more at them the next cycle coming off an injury?

Rooths-with the departures his role will only increase. Now his value will increase. There is enough film on him he will have the opportunity to improve his financial status. This will be a money ball decision.

LOUISVILLE AT SYRACUSE GAME THREAD- 7PM ACCN

This is a smart and disciplined team. For the most part they don’t take bad shots. They do try to get the best shot.

Syracuse is horribly coached. You can always tell on the defensive end if a coach knows what they are doing. It is another example of a coach not having a plan in terms of roster development. Lumpkin can’t guard the pick and roll. He doesn’t fit their defensive scheme at all. Plus he is huge which acts like it’s own pick if they go underneath a screen.

Cards Back In the Top 25

Rankings do matter but at the end of the season because rankings = seeding.
seeding only matters to teams that can't win it all and their fanbases dream of sweet 16 runs.. it doesn't matter because if you're good you'll beat everyone. if you cannot beat a number 1 seed no matter your seed you won't win it all. only one #1 in your side of the bracket and only possibly three total you can face. so right now can you beat auburn, iowa st, duke and florida? my answer is yes, so who cares what seed we are, those assholes are scared of us now. make us a 16 for all i care and we'll beat the 1 in the first round.
