LOUISVILLE AT SYRACUSE GAME THREAD- 7PM ACCN

Cards have to stop taking bad shots. They can get what they want against Syracuse's defense. No need for Waterman to take a circus shot 15 seconds into the shot clock.

Kelsey should be able to focus our guys that they need to take the advantage they have against the Cuse, and they will get open shots. No need to be spectacular.

Syracuse is by far the weakest defense the Cards have faced, not counting some cupcakes. Not much coaching coming from the Syracuse bench.

Louisville could run any set they wanted because Syracuse wasn't taking anything away. So far this Cards team has not taken any opponent for granted which will be tested with a rematch this Saturday against Virginia.

i found the flaw in this team...they can't throw alley oops. i think i counted at least 5 failures. what a great failure to have though lol. o/w, dang these kids are ballin'!!!

That was just this game as Syracuse was coached to look for the lob pass. The Cards have been alley ooping all season, just ask James Scott.

It will become more difficult further down the line as teams watch film of Louisville.

Some nice comments on here this evening. Someone stated that Syracuse wasn't playing much defense and I have to agree. But, the Card's offense puts pressure on you for 50 - 55 minutes! You're damn if you guard the 3's and damn if you don't. They'll drive on you,
shoot short jumpers or alley oops! Another, very good Team win. We're now to the '1 game at a time' from here on. Let's beat Virginia...

This was #7 in a row!

This is a smart and disciplined team. For the most part they don’t take bad shots. They do try to get the best shot.

Syracuse is horribly coached. You can always tell on the defensive end if a coach knows what they are doing. It is another example of a coach not having a plan in terms of roster development. Lumpkin can’t guard the pick and roll. He doesn’t fit their defensive scheme at all. Plus he is huge which acts like it’s own pick if they go underneath a screen.

Of course.
but if you just watched this game alone, and no others before, you'd say they are the worst lob throwing team ever. i think at least two lobs if not three were blocked on the pass alone which rarely if ever happens so WTF was going on there, another two were so far off the rim the player couldn't make the shot or had to come back down with the ball and go back up and those failed to score, and i think a 5th simply failed to convert as shooter just missed. so based on this game alone, they absolutely sucked at trying lob dunks. go back and watch the game. tons of failures on the lobs. the only one that really scored was -Ibe getting fouled and making two free throws. o/w i think all lob dunk attempts failed. so based on this game, they suck lol

Lots of Syracuse alums calling the game and in studio. We even take a back seat to old Big East teams in the ACC. Give Luke and Padgett more air time!
I thought I was going to have to mute the broadcast but Devendorf did a pretty decent job. He gave Kelsey and the Cards a lot of respect but I guess when a team goes up by 20 on your alma mater, its hard to say a lot of good things about your team.

Its called team scouting and watching a lot of film. I think Scott has only missed 11 or 12 shots all season going into the game. He's now 55 for 67, a 82%, which is crazy. Clemson tried to shut down Chucky and Reyne and were pretty successful but couldn't stop Hadley. Every team is going to try and stop something we do. I still think Chucky is the secret sauce.

Like the defense began to gel against uk,the offense is finding its identity now. It's offensive basketball 301 and hopefully by March it's 401.
