LOUISVILLE VS NOTRE DAME GAME THREAD

The gambling analyst are going to come out of this game stat wise Louisville was the better team. Visually they were physically better. They caught terrible spots of bad officiating that legit cost them points. They weren’t good enough to overcome and found a way to blow it.

It happens to everyone at some point in the season. You just can’t beat talented teams when you turnover it over and blow assignments. The main concern is they aren’t playing clean at all. They continue to do that they are going to drop games.

VIDEO: Brohm Post Game

Jeff accepted responsibility for the numerous mistakes, some of which go direct to this staff. However, a bad long snap, a dropped pass into the hands of a DB and careless ball control by a QB leading to a fumble belong to individual players, but failing to call timeout when your DB is injured, and there is obvious confusion with the substitution that lead to incorrect coverage on a critical 3rd down …….. saw it the week before on the last series before halftime against GT, when our secondary was confused with coverage on the long pass reception.

Our defense played extremely well for most all of the game; regrettably confusion with coverage on just a very few critical plays have come at the worst possible time.

Officials

The level of physicality allowed by college officials between the Defensive coverage and the Receiver has evolved to the point where pass interference penalty could be called on virtually every single route.

ND corners are very talented, but the contact yesterday was by definition “Pass Interference”; so often the contact occurring prior to the ball arriving.

The spotting of the football was consistently favoring ND; something that is very critical for a team that runs the football as much as the Irish do.

In fairness, the biased officiating that we witnessed in South Bend yesterday was evident all over the country. Intentional or not, the officiating seems to have a predetermined outcome in too many of these games.

LOUISVILLE VS NOTRE DAME GAME THREAD

Today was a frustrating loss but not a bad one. We played ND at their place in bad weather and lost by 7. The play calling has to be better, we have to cut down on turnovers and we had a lot of missed opportunities. Something that we have no control over is the refs but it needs to get better.
I don’t know if the ACC has a review of the refs but they should and there needs to be penalties for really bad calls that are obvious. I think we were the better team but I don’t think we were prepared and that is on the coaches. The season is not over and if can take care these issues we can we could get into the playoffs by being 1st or 2bd in the ACC. That is achievable if we can correct the issues.

The ACC is atrocious

When I look at college football around the country all the conferences have some surprising outcomes. Including the SEC look how bad Auburn and Mississippi State are. Then supposedly top teams are barely beating weaker opponents. I think
It is because of the transfer portal where.

The teams that have the best recruiting classes are being neutralized by the transfer portal. You are better off having a strong portal recruiting class than you are by having a strong freshmen recruiting class.
