Pizza Bowl

Red team wins to cut into Black lead.
Series3-2 now.
Forbes had another stellar performance. Moore with 4 hits.

I noticed something yesterday kinda goes hand in hand with some comments I've made during this series about outstanding defense. We were in the outfield while our grandson was playing and there were a handful of balls hit between outfielders that were potentially doubles, cut off by the outfield and turned into singles 😳
Not just once, but several. These guys are fast.

LOUISVILLE VS VIRGINIA GAME THREAD

Sometimes it's like watching an Abbott and Costello skit. Just sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for the punchline.
Nailed it! It was at the point after the long pass and run by Brooks I believe we had it down around the 10 or so,I turned to my nephew and said "time for the holding call"
Bam!! Next play-holding😳🧐😅

It is an extremely competitive in fluid environment. Volume wise the top end talent in high school and transfers are going to the brands. I think it is a heathy mix but the reality is any freshmen that is good will test the market. Watch what happens with Brown in the off season.

Louisville will never land enough freshman talent to protect itself from poaching. Then the developmental high school players may transfer to lower level to play. There will be years where they just hit it right in the portal. Then there will be years where they will miss.

The immediately transfers has made it ridiculously competitive. The top teams can be gotten. The middle of the road teams every game will be a dog fight. Louisville could be 6-0 or 2-4. When teams are that close the odds are you aren’t going to always make that key play. The better odds are is the team won’t make that play.

Do you guys still Love Ricky P?

Always look forward to Pitino threads, in part because the participants never change...

The same butthurt U of L fans who despise Pitino but would each give their firstborn child to have U of L basketball return to the level of competition that Pitino fostered.

The more reasonable fans who are indifferent to the man in 2024 but respect his accomplishments.

And the Coach himself who appreciates the fans and the players he brought here, but rightfully pi$$e$ on an administration that d!cked him over and would rather perpetuate a basketball program dumpster fire.

BTW Pitino looks pretty happy in the photos and videos I saw this week.

I use the L-word sparingly and certainly not for a basketball coach...
