Cards not ranked

Lunardi has us as a 7-seed, which translates to somewhere between 25-28.

If we’re being disrespected, it’s pretty much a mass conspiracy….
What about Jay Bilas? You guys respect him? He was calling a game and the ACC being down came up and the other guy said there's probably only going to be 4 ACC teams to make the dance and with 18 teams, there's only two that are ranked in the AP poll.

Bilas agreed the ACC was way down but asked isn't there 3 ranked teams and when told Louisville wasn't, he said that was ridiculous and that's due to something all together different.

Mark Packer has lamented several times how ridiculous it was that Louisville was ranked in the AP or coaches poll. I'm sure I could find many others, but what I do find is Louisville fans actually agreeing that Louisville shouldn't be in the AP top 25. That simply boggles the mind and I just don't get it.

But hey, to each their own.

Not really… it was Feb 4th when he flipped.. and also when this was posted, as well as when everybody commented on it. Except for you. 😉

😂 Pretty sure that you completely misunderstood his post. He was talking about the old days when we didn’t have NIL and we didn’t have a December signing day. The first Wednesday in February was like Christmas for a diehard football fan back then.

Cards not ranked

I've been pretty clear that it's the AP voters who are disrespecting Louisville, not the computer polls, some that have Louisville in the top 15.

This disrespect also has been ongoing not just lately. The GT loss is the only Cards loss since December and normally that wouldn't keep a team from being ranked in February. I don't know any other reason than a lack of respect and that pisses me off. If it doesn't for you, that's fine.

This is a message board and the purpose is to discuss Louisville sports, and it's pretty evident you don't like my opinions or my conclusions, so why don't you just use the ignore button? You like telling others what to do, I will do the same.
This is a message board to discuss U of L basketball.

You started the thread with U of L not ranked. That is an open invitation to express my opinions on why U of L is not ranked. You have your opinions and I have mine. Obviously you are certainly entitled to post them as I do without being disrespectful. It's not that I don't like your conclusions, its that I do disagree with them and so I should be able to express my opinions about why I disagree with them. If you noticed, I did agree with a post of yours in the women's basketball thread. You are also welcome to let me know where you think I'm wrong about something. I just don't think this team is being disrespected and you really haven't provided much evidence to prove it. So again, there are no teams remaining on our schedule to move the needle so blaming the AP voters is pointless. Several posters have expressed their opinions on why Louisville is ranked where we are. That's fine except you beat that drum every game every message.

By the way, you disrespected our own team by predicting they were going to lose in the middle of a game...

Cards not ranked

Yes, I am. How is being disrespected when our NET is 28. How is being disrespected when in the last 10 years, this is probably the weakest overall ACC league. How do you jump 7 or 8 teams in front of you when none of them lost and you lost to a weak GT team. Clemson did, but they beat the #2 team in the AP poll. How do you get a lot of credit for beating the last place Miami team even without your best player. If you remember Miami got within 3 points of us in the 2nd half. Voters are not supposed to look at injuries but how do they overlook the possibility that we may not have our best player for a while.

Aren't you also the poster that started posting that we were going to lose in the middle of the game and started asking what ifs. Next time why don't you just wait until the game is actually over.

UK ranked #6 and we get 1 vote

You may disagree with me but I believe my point is valid. I took BK's post to mean look how uninspiring the Cards are that Ivy league teams are receiving more votes for the top 25.

I didn't think he was saying Louisville is being dissed like the men's team has been. I may be wrong but I believe he was saying the Cards are running out of time to change the perception of them as a non ranked team.

Maybe Louisville should get the benefit of the doubt, being a elite program for over a decade, but I haven't seen them as a top 25 team yet this season, and unfortunately I don't think we will this season.

Hope I'm wrong, starting with the FSU game.

Cards not ranked

I know some here will be annoyed by me talking about the rankings again, but it just continues to amaze me how this Louisville team is disrespected by the voters.

At anytime in the last 40 years or so if Louisville was 18 and 6 and 11 and 2 in conference play, they would be in the top 25. Then add the schedule strength in the top 15 and the amount of double figure wins plus doing this despite major injuries, you have to wonder what the hell is the deal?

Louisville is receiving votes that puts them at 29. That is total bullshit.

It took forever to get ranked and then after the loss to GT who I remind beat Clemson on the road their next game, the Cards apparently have to prove more than others that they are worthy of being a top 25 ranked team.

I know the AP poll doesn't mean anything when it comes to forecasting Louisville's post season chances, so there's no need for retorts to that affect. I'm just legitimately asking why the reluctance of voters when it comes to this Louisville team?

The Cards should be a huge story, with the media praising the turnaround and the excellent coaching that led to it. Instead, Louisville is behind three other teams just out of the top 25.
