A suggestion on how UL might respond to obvious disrespect

I know it would not be a popular decision but I would love to hear Louisville was leaving the ACC. I'm done with the North Carolina/Duke bias. It's sickening and I loath the conference even more.

Not trying to be political and it's purely in jest, but DOGE should investigate the NCAA committee and their ACC hack chairman. Putting UNC in the field with just one quad win while at the same time putting Louisville and it's 27 wins at a 8 seed reeks of corruption.

Think about it. UNC is only three seeds lower than Louisville. If that isn't a huge flashing warning sign what is? Then there's Clemson, a team Louisville beat twice and they're 3 seeds higher than Louisville.

If UofL could logistically join the Big 10 or Big 12 they should do it in a heartbeat. I would even prefer moving back to the Big East. I understand why joining the ACC was attractive and necessary at the time for UofL, but today it's obvious the ACC holds some form of contempt for the University.

I pull against every ACC team in both football and basketball. I despise the conference my favorite team is in.

Now this is funny

Auburn fans think they got screwed because they might have to play Louisville in the 2nd game. They think that they have the toughest draw of all the 1 seeds. They are hoping Creighton wins.
If the tournament goes like the season, there will be a lot of “unhappy” seeds this weekend.

The last few weeks the “top 25” would have 8-11 losses every week.

My best hope is for every sec team to get beat this weekend.

Sick and tired of hearing about em.

A suggestion on how UL might respond to obvious disrespect

So, what else is new?

It’s been going on since we got it.

But people say “oh no. They love us”

So we live with the 8 seed, bend over, and say “thank you. may we have another?”

We have to stay, and the travel is 100x better for us fans than the B12 would be.

I hope we become the “face” of the conference and then they CAN’T let us get an 8 seed.

Game Broadcast

Mark Packer and folks on his ACC PM show us love and kudos regularly. Joining the ACC was a stroke of luck. Thank you Tom Jurich
I agree. We made out on the deal. And it was TJ that got it done. (And we did everything in our power to just be another Joe, but that’s another thread)

But that doesn’t mean they’re happy about it.

Actually, I believe they resent the fact that THEY NEEDED US (maybe more than we needed them), with our “low academics” and “shoeless” fan base,, to bolster their athletic status.

So let’s make em resent us more.

A suggestion on how UL might respond to obvious disrespect

While most of us can look to the NCAA as the culprit here, my focus going forward is with the ACC Leadership. No, I am not excusing the Selection Committee, as clearly they are ultimately responsible for this incredible act of disrespect, but until the NCAA further self-destructs, there is nothing this University can do to address this latest injustice, or prohibit future injustice.

It should be no surprise that of the four (4) ACC members selected, two are founding members of the ACC, each residing in the state of North Carolina. Bubba Cunningham can hide behind his prepared statement, “as having no participation in UNC selection”, but those of us who have participated in any Committee processes know that does not mean Bubba did not exercise his influence outside the private conversations for UNC’s inclusion, or his failure to stand up for UL in the seeding process.

I believe UL (Josh Heird) should begin actively lobbying with the majority of those ACC member ADs who are not located in the state of NC, nor are identified as supportive of the “Tobacco Road Mafia” who have abused their authority forever. I believe there has been a growing sense within many of the member schools who have experienced their own injustices over the years, and with the recent entrance of SMU, Cal and Stanford, it is now possible the majority of schools could wrestle control away for North Carolina. One initiative would be moving the ACC Basketball tournament away from Charlotte, as the geography screams change.

There is no reason for UL to think about leaving the ACC, but rather focus on gaining consensus with the majority of members schools that Tobacco Road is not representative of those schools outside of North Carolina and that it is time to find a more aggressive leadership that models the behavior of the SEC when it comes to supporting their own.

As Eric Crawford so effectively pointed out in his article this morning, Bubba never even had the courage to answer the question about UL being seeded 8, without invoking the names of UNC and Memphis. Bubba got away with screwing UL, but I honestly believe his performance on behalf of the ACC is being interpreted by most ACC members schools as “this could just as easily have happened to my school”.

It’s a Friday double header tomorrow.

I bailed mid-7th as Wyatt came on to pitch. My legs were frozen.
Are they back? I think the bats must get better against off-speed pitchers. They looked confused at the plate yesterday and part of today.
Pitching. Tucker seems to have come out of his coma. Wyatt looks great. Several FR have looked very solid. So, the question is:
Is Detmers going to be ok?
We need Cutts to be a dude on the mound.
Can Hartman pitch to the level he is capable of?

If those three items are all Yes - should be a very good season.
Too early to tell about Tucker. He did get the save but he gave up a single and a walk before getting that 3rd out. I would say the jury is still out. King is back playing but really needs to be cautious with the hamstring especially when the weather is still iffy. Also don't know about the status of Alecea and how long he will be out. Is he day to day? Of course, it usually does boil down to pitching. I think they are optimistic about Detmers, but yes solid performances by Forbes and especially Michael.

21 out of 22 and it's a yawn

If we can get Reyne back, I feel pretty good about getting a couple of wins (depending on the 2nd round match up if we get to that game). Not having another legit, game in and game out scoring threat hurt last night.

Hadley generally benefits from having Smith on the floor. We are much easier to defend missing Reyne and as good as Hadley can be, he isn't the type of player that can consistently be a go to offensive player, especially with the size mismatches he often deals with and the amount of minutes he has had to play.

All it takes is for either Edwards or Chucky to be "off" and that can be a disaster for our offense.
The whole team benefits when Chucky has the ball the majority of the time not Edwards. If Reyne is on the floor, teams cannot leave him unguarded meaning they can't double team Chucky. I think Chucky is too unselfish and gives up the ball too easily. Hadley and Scott also benefit with Chucky having the ball, not so much with Edwards.

Man, yall got jobbed big time

It was a negotiation Bubba we will put Carolina in but we need this in return. Honestly, how else can you explain a process that is heavily reliant on metics then ignore all the metrics?

It doesn’t matter you have to win 6 games all are tough. They overvalued the SEC which ended up screwing several teams seeding wise and being left out. WVU should be in the tournament. To be honest Louisville maybe why.

No surprise at all

My opinion is the SEC and Big Ten expanded because the media wanted them to expand. In return schools have to start investing in basketball. The pay back is we will load up the brackets with SEC and Big Ten teams. Having 14 SEC teams completely screwed up the brackets. A losing conference record almost always put you on the bubble.

It doesn’t explain Creighton or Louisville being screwed. Memphis makes zero sense other than their early season wins.

They valued Quad 1 wins and losses over everything else. The pre-conference games determine the rest of the year. It determined Louisville fate. They couldn’t accumulate enough Quad 1 wins.

Louisville is playing at noon because it is the number one TV market and it will get eyeballs. It doesn’t get down to trying to knock Louisville out early. Strictly eyeballs.

This is a TV product and the TV executives have heavily invested in the SEC and Big Ten. That is the new reality.
