It’s a Friday double header tomorrow.

Alex tweeked his back. He got in the game late. Nothing serious, CDM stated he was just sore. He could(should) rest him Tuesday again. EJKjr - IDK. Rotate him in as a DH along with Lippie, Early and Klein based on pitching matchups. To me, he has to show me something during actual game play that he can hit the ball and just not be out there hacking away.

WV Governor Taking Legal Action Against NCAA Selection Committee

Glad to see this if only to start a conversation that matters. Corruption is corruption and if the NCAA committee is being corrupt, there should be an investigation.

North Carolina has no buisness being picked ahead of West Virginia and since the NCAA committee leader is a UNC alum, there's smoke so the fire department needs to check it out.

Once the process starts, looking into how Clemson got a 5 seed and Louisville a 8 seed, could lead to more evidence of corruption.

We all know sports is a serious buisness with millions of dollars being made, so the notion that this isn't a serious lawsuit because its about a basketball tournament is disingenuous.

It may not go anywhere but the process needs to start. Everyone who pays attention knows how bad the NCAA is in virtually everything it does. Maybe shit like this corrupt bracket will hasten the Universities leaving the NCAA?

Reyne Smith status

Well I thought I did because you said it will be several weeks before Smith could move laterally. If he can't do that Kelsey wouldn't be saying he's ready to go.

Now I think everyone can agree he won't be at 100 percent but if he can't move laterally, then he wouldn't play at all, which is what I took your post as saying.

He's going to be a bit rusty and is game stamina will be shorter, so I'm not expecting a lot from him in the tournament. It is true these kind of ankle injuries take weeks to get over. Something Duke fans are going to notice, despite the ESPN hacks picking them for the final 4.
I think you are applying semantics here, as my comments about Smith "being less than 100%" were directly related to my understanding of how "high ankle sprains" result in inability to move laterally. In order for Smith to contribute, he must be able to play defense with intensity, something that is not possible after suffering from a high ankle sprain just a few weeks ago.

I am not an orthopedic, but I experienced a high ankle sprain playing HS basketball, and while I could run and shoot, I was advised by Dr Ellis that I would be ineffective playing defense, as that required moving laterally. It was 6 months before I could return to pre-injury movement, and even then my ankle was weakened from the elongated ligaments and tendons. No one wants Smith to play Thursday more than me, and my cautionary message was only intended for UL fans like you to prepare for disappointment. I truly hope I am proven wrong.

Onward...I'm over it

Alright. I'm over it and console myself by saying Creighton and Auburn are less than thrilled at having to play us in the first and potentially second rounds. In Lexington no less though for every four Louisville fans in Rupp there will be a UK fan or some orange Terd from Buck Tustle, TN who looks like he's dressed for Deer season or road side trash pickup who can barely spell S-E-C let alone pronounce it.

That vent finished, Creighton first.

One I like that their offense is overwhelmingly in the hands of their PG Ashworth, and he plays 35 minutes a game. With a name like Steven Ashworth you'd think he'd be on the LIV Tour instead of playing point guard for a Big East program. Good luck shaking Omaha's own Chucky Hepburn, Douchebag. Little known fact...CardHack spent the first six years of his life not far from Creighton, though you won't find any plaques in my honor. Such is the fate of someone born in a town where Warren Buffet and Johnny Carson are from. Nonetheless, something I don't like is that Creighton doesn't foul and we are a team that really builds up a FT differential when we're right. This is the first Louisville squad since 1975 that averaged making as many FT attempts as our opponents attempted. It's what dogged us against Duke. Kalkbrenner doesn't foul and blocks nearly three shots a game which to me says we have to involve him heavily in pick-and-rolls. Side ball screen pick and rolls when it's Edwards or Hepburn on the elbow extended. And it also tells me that we HAVE to have Reyne in this game. Creighton hits 9.7 threes a game which is identical to us. If we are going to be getting to the FT line less than normal we simply can't have a three point deficit. The math doesn't work if we do if we're having to have an overwhelming volume and percentage on two point shots because we are a team sans a low post scoring option. Our points in the lane come from Chucky and Edwards drives or J'Vonne backdowns or putbacks. Despite Kalkbrenner's presence they are only a +3.6 a game on the boards whereas we're a +4.6. Statistically two evenly matched teams. It's those three point margins and how we manage Kalkbrenner that will determine who plays Auburn on Saturday. But I think we really have to have Reyne on the floor.

A suggestion on how UL might respond to obvious disrespect

It's the same argument Maryland used to forward when Gary Williams was there; the ACC schedule is built around North Carolina/Duke and is a Carolinacentric league which is how it made it's bones except in the Ralph Sampson years though you then were contending with a much more Carolina/NC State league.

It is what it is and ultimately it's unraveling. Once UNC heads off to the Big Ten or the SEC in 2032 the league ultimately will either rebrand or simply dissolve.
