CFP 20-21 Dec Challenge for Bragging Rights....get to pic'n....lets roll

Fri 20 Dec:

IU - ND -- Domers rip the training wheels off of the Hooshiers on Irish home field in welcoming them to big boy CFB, they are not ready for prime time either.

Sat 21 Dec:

CU
- TX -- Dabo gets his best performance of the year by his Tigers and upsets the over rated all year long Longhorns, Tigers hook um horns in a big surprise to the folks in Texass.

UTenn - OSU -- Tough call for me on this one... but going with the HF adv that the BucEyes will have in this game. Vols will find a way to choke but keepit close

SMU
- PSU -- will turn out to be the best game of the four, the Mustangs will strut their stuff vs the overated Nitwit Lions rolling to the W as speed kills and the tangs have more of it then theplodding Lions--Tiebreaker - 34 - 27 Tangs.

Good fortune to ya! and there you have it, my best WAG in this first ever 12 team playoff to get down to the Elite 8. What say you guys?

Now get to pic'n and grin'n. Lets have some fun. Game commentary is encouraged and appreciated by all. TY.

Louisville vs Northern Iowa

Amazingly the UNI team was not rated in the top 25. They were undefeated in the MVC, and all of their losses were to ranked non-conference, mostly on the road. Dayton, OSU, Creighton and UL beat them early in the season on the road, and their home losses to SMU and TX A&M were before their conference run. Those UL fans who witnessed them beat Illinois recognized just how much they had improved since their earlier trip to the Ville, and expressed apprehension about the match.

Some Perspective....

we are 5-4 on the season, two years ago we only won 4 games, last year we only won 8 while losing to non P5 teams, and of the 4 losses this year the teams who beat us are currently ranked #1 TN, #6 Duke, #16 Ole Miss and #19 OK. and UK coming up is #4. possibly the toughest early season schedule in school history, maybe 1986 was harder when we started 11-7.. so patience and give up expectations for the year, just enjoy the ride and cheer every win and praise the effort in losses. or something like that. simply beat the teams you are supposed to and steal a win from ones you are not. Go Cards!!!

Louisville vs UConn

Well said Bardman. Olivia was most effective scoring and rebounding in the first half against Oklahoma. Once she, Jada and Harris got into foul trouble, the defensive intensity was minimal and contributed to Oklahoma surging in the second half, much like UK did late in the 4th quarter and in the OT.

Jeff acknowledged the obvious; the players are simply not executing anywhere close to what he expected, as he has tried to give every player an opportunity to step up. If we are honest, it’s difficult to be competitive in any game when the shots are not going in, and this team’s offensive woes and losses will continue until they can hit their shots.

Here is my two cents'

First, I will say this we need to get out of the ACC and try to head to the Big12.Yet another year of the powers that be that run the ACC playing Puppet master and trying to dictate who it's conference champion will be. All this year they have been trying to prop up Miami just for them to not make the CFP and once again after Clemson and SMU are one and done the ACC will look less than in the eyes of the national media. All of the clear no-calls in the SMU and Miami games being dictated by their bogus replay station set up in Charlotte to me just proves my point. I am also tired of the ACC fascination with Notre Dame. I say cut ties and just bring in another school who will be a full-time member and not play this one foot in, one foot out BS.When we first got the invite to join the ACC, I thought we would be seen as an asset but instead only the "Tabacco Road" schools get the push. The ACC doesn't even promote our rivalry with UK, hell they don't even promote Duke vs. UNC anymore. I know the whole landscape of college football has changed but I honestly believe we got more respect and recognition when we were in the Big East. This past summer there was rumors of a Big 12/ACC merger or agreement and nothing came of it.We have the two HC in charge of our basketball and football programs who can elevate us and I feel like the ACC will do nothing but hold us back because they don't see us a viable member of their Atlatic Coast conference.

Louisville vs UConn

CJW is a victim of the changing landscape, but the problem is he refuses to embrace the new environment and I get that. I can be that way as a fan, but a coach cannot. The fact he has 8 freshmen and really no portal players well that’s the issue. He’s trying to maintain an old system in a new environment and he’ll fail. Will be lucky to keep all those freshmen, so will be at square one again next year.
Now maybe he doesn’t have a lot of NIL money and that could be hindering him, but given his comments he’s not embarrassing NIL and the portal.
I agree with the previous comments about Cochran and Harris, but another weakness of CJW is getting a quality 5. He just can’t seem to land a good center. That has cost us in the NC runs. I don’t understand that.
This comes off as a very uninformed post. He has utilized the portal since its inception and has done well. Last year, those transfers really failed him (overall). He brought in just one this year, which is fine. I think there is some talent in the ‘bigs’; who is working with on a regular basis may be more the issue. They need to really work on positioning and blocking out - neither of which they do well currently. Youth is fine. He is playing a lot of players and those performing will get more minutes.

Wow, SMU in Bama Dropped

Exactly what I would do, except get rid of the committee and use objective criteria to determine the 16 playoff participants.
😂 he said objective. However, I do agree with 16 teams and no one gets a bye. The top teams almost always have the best depth and don’t need a bye. It makes it that much harder for everyone else.

TCU vs South Carolina

USC knocked TCU into the twilight zone wining by 35 and pulling their starters early in the 4th period. HVL had 19 points but her problem is being a weak defender. The 6’7” Sedona Prince looked awful and the rest of the team contributed very little . As a team TCU wasn’t any better than Louisville’s game against UConn.

I truly believe there are only 5 teams that have a chance to win the title this year. There are probably only 10 teams that could pull off an upset over the top 5. It is going to be interesting to see how this looks later in the season. By the way TCU’s lineup is made up of mostly transfers. The portal gave them some false hope but nothing more.
