There’s 6 sec teams that made the tournament with a below .500 record. If you can’t even get to .500 then that’s what the NIT for.I don't think it matters because just go look at the other leagues, I'll list the other power conference teams that had a .500 record or better in league play that didn't get a bid.
Big 12: West Virginia (10-10, not a winning record)
Big Ten: Indiana (10-10, not a winning record)
Big East: Villanova
ACC: Wake Forest, SMU, Stanford
That's the list. I think because many of us just hate the SEC, we just look and say "Texas had a losing record and losing records in their own league means the other leagues got screwed" but don't look at the other leagues.
