ESPN says Cards have work to do

The phrase "work to do" from that ESPN piece meant one thing. Louisville wasn't presently in the NCAA tournament and has a under 50 percent chance they will unless they win more games.

That is bullshit and every Cards fan should agree. Of course if they go on a 5 game losing streak things would be different. That's the case with most every team. They all have work to do.

Now this thing with ESPN'S computer model I don't know, but what I do know is the people running that department at ESPN had to know saying Louisville wasn't in yet, but the ACC teams they beaten were likely in was total BS!

The BPI seems to not take into account the results of games.
Our BPI ranking is #36.
BPI stands for Basketball Power Index, a statistical measurement of how strong a college basketball team is. It's used to predict how well a team will perform.

How is BPI calculated?

  • BPI is calculated by subtracting the team's defense rating (BPI Defense) from its offense rating (BPI Offense)
  • The difference between the team's rating and the average rating is used to determine the team's BPI
What does BPI include?

    • BPI includes factors like:
        • Winning percentage
        • Strength of schedule
        • Margin of victory
        • Diminishing returns to blowouts
