Well, Brohm did take Plummer after benching him at Purdue.
I think there's several guys out there better than Moss. I think the dude at California, Fernando Mendoza would be a home run pick.
I'm not going to go back and look for it but somebody posted their offense and defensive rank and they were ranked a lot higher in offense than defense..Not really, not with Chris Beard. He's a defensive coach.
Alas, that is not correct. Elif is just a Soph and she has been holding her own. The Aussie girl is a FR!! Nyla has been sub-par - unfortunately. Olivia had a great game tonight; but, she hasn’t exactly been stellar. The team has held its own without Olivia and Nyla in the lineup. Tonight was about poor shooting. Also, anyone watching this game - good lord, Beers shoved, pushed and tossed our players around without penalty. It was sickening. It was constant head scratching in that 2nd half. They played with no discipline or intelligence all the way to the end with the wrong player taking the key shots.
Walz seemingly alright with it all.
I can't pronounce very well or spell the two foreign born players who play on the inside. Both are not ACC caliber players. They're more like Sun Belt or OVC level.
Yet, they back up Cochran and Harris and when they're in, the team struggles to score or even hold onto the ball.
Curry is obviously the alpha, the most trusted shooter, kinda like Hepburn for the men. Guard play is not the Cards problem, it's the front court and that includes the wing forward position.
Walz has a lot of work to do.
Not really, not with Chris Beard. He's a defensive coach.Ole Miss is known more for being an offensive oriented team, their defense is not close to Tennessee's.. We're just very easy to guard when we don't make 3's.
University offices close after December 15th so they better hurry. Classes start Jan 8th.Might be able to pick up a foreign player or if a college player that chose not to play this season and hasn't been on a roster. Not sure what kind of talent you would be getting. Probably not great..
My only complaint with Kelsey is that he doesn't like to call timeouts. When a team gets on a run he just rolls with it and let's the guys play on. When a team makes a run on us our guys press harder to score to stop it and usually commit turnovers. Probably could've saved about 10 points lastnight with a couple of timeouts...After the sheer embarrassment of the past two seasons, I believe most Cards fans just wanted to see effort and competent coaching this season. We wanted to look like a real basketball team, not a group of guys with no idea what their coaches were doing.
We figured Kelsey would bring in excitement with effort and dedication to save the sinking ship that was Louisville basketball. We didn't necessarily believe his first team full of transfers was going to be some world beater, just a competitive team that with some luck could maybe sneak into post season play.
We saw this during the summer and in the early part of the regular season. There wasn't boring, uninspired play against exhibition teams or cupcakes on the schedule. We saw a purpose and it excited the fanbase.
Now injuries are part of the buisness, but what has happened to this team is beyond that. It has derailed all the positive vibes the team had, especially after those first two games in the Bahamas. The decimation of the Hoosiers got the fans and the pundits excited that Louisville hoops was back and good for the game.
But now it's back to the unknown with the team having to re-evaluate its plan of attack now that there's only 8 scholarship players. The expectations from just last week are no longer plausible and for most fans, that is just hard to accept.
We have to remember this is a rebuild and will take more than a season or two. The guys on this team except for Scott and Rooths, know this is their only chance to be part of the rebuilding process and they're going to press a little bit. They're going to take bad shots and they have more pressure on them to make those shots.
They remember the IU game and want so bad to do that again, but they're now realizing that they have a much bigger mountain to climb and they probably won't reach the summit. That's a lot to handle for players who know this is it for their college basketball careers.
We fans should temper our expectations, especially against very good teams. To suggest Kelsey was outcoached by Beard is ridiculous. There wasn't anything Kelsey could have done. Now he needs to adjust his strategy going forward and if and how he does that he can and will be judged.
It's going to take some time though and that's my expectation for the remainder of the season.
If he wasn't bench, he probably wouldn't be in the portal.... There is a reason for why guys go into the portal. Some valid, some underachieved, etc.My main issue is he was benched. He was wildly inconsistent. In fairness to him it was a new offense that is more RPO and QB runs. Then you throw in really good defenses.
I like all the physical tools but really don’t like taking a guy that was benched. Now he maybe the guy that is like a really good shirt on the discount rack that has a small hole. Easy to fix. The price may be right.
Like I said I trust Brohm.
