I think it’s best to leave the selection to the individual candidates. Until they announce their decision, it’s wide open; and even then it’s possible they will change their minds.

Remember, beyond playing time, the NIL $$$$ can influence their final decision.
Well, no one I know here is making the decision for the transfers. We're just commenting on it. Is discussing who may or may not choose UofL and why now considered inappropriate?

The entire purpose of this message board is to contemplate Louisville basketball and it's players, recruits and coaches. Isn't that what is best?

Indiana:

This comes with learning how to pitch. Cutt’s shouldn’t be having this much trouble. The freshman just didn’t need their off-speed stuff in high school. They could rely on their 88-90 fastball even if they got behind. They didn’t even have to locate it in a good spot. In college especially today with all the strength programs and data pitchers have to mix it up and stay ahead in the count. That is a huge adjustment for freshman. Again no issue with the freshman they are learning. The issue is the staff ignored the portal and didn’t add quality veteran arms.

Their plan can still work if the freshman improve, we will see.
So,you're saying these Freshmen pitchers have gotten this far on just velocity? Hard to imagine getting into a P5 program without something else in the repertoire.

I'm ok with the Freshmen too. I'm only saying we have no chance of getting to Omaha without them. They have to step up.
As far as Cutts,he's coming off an injury I think. We better hope he's going to turn the corner and soon.

I think we are set at the guard position with Brown, Conwell, Wooley and Rodgers so I think that rules out NcNeely. What we need now is another forward. Hadley is undersized and Pryor, although talented is unproven. Rooths had a good year but does he take the next step forward. I like to see a 6-8 big guy that can get us rebounds, block shots and can't get pushed around like Scott. If not Nate Ament then someone like him.
Nate Ament looks incredibly fragile and he’s not the 6’8 big guy that you described.
He’s built like Gumby and side show bob had a kid

Midweek games should not be used as an indicator of anything except trying to find that 4th or 5th pitcher if and when you get to the ACC tournament or CWS. We pitched 9 guys and IU pitched 7. It is just like getting bullpen work in. We probably have a lot of guys who can go 1-2 innings. Its when they get stretched out more. That's the problem with our 2 weekend starters with the possible exception of Forbes, who is consistently good through 5. Thats when you need to get guys up in the bullpen. For Michael, its after the 3rd or 4th inning. Schlageter and Hartman going 1-2 innings is not an indicator they can go 6-7 innings in ACC play.

Indiana:

The main issue besides locating their fastball is their inability to consistently throw the off speed pitch in or around the zone. Nothing worse than a one dimensional pitcher who grooves it like batting practice.

The hope is that they can figure it out while the offense carries the brunt. It was an otherwise decent pitching performance yesterday.

I don’t know if you listened to her last night after the game talking about her mental struggles and not knowing whether she wanted to live? She said she struggled with her confidence and was unsure of herself and faced criticism. I would think all those issues were created when she was at LSU. She struggled at the point guard position while at LSU.

When she was at Louisville she was receiving nothing but positive input from the fan base. That is why she was at Louisville 3 years and LSU one year. Unfortunately she had a bad game against Texas but so did the rest of her team. It’s ironic that she transferred to different schools trying to chase a national title. The closest she got was when she was at Louisville.
While she might have been getting support from the fans, she definitely wasn't get it from her teammates, namely one player in particular. There was inner strife over whose team is was or should be. Her initials were OC. I'll leave it at that.

There are many factors. Playing time really matters. In certain systems you can play 30 minutes a game at a high level. In other systems like Kelsey, Oats, and Pope probably can’t play 30 minutes without losing your legs. Ideally a team would want 6 dudes in the 1-2-3 spots. Some games that may 25 minutes other game it may only be 15 minute. Obviously the key guy in each spot is probably getting 25 minutes more times than not.

If they land McNelly at this point I would be surprised because Hadley hasn’t entered. If Hadley doesn’t enter the portal no way McNelly comes to Louisville. Just not enough room. Even if Hadley leaves it is still a stretch. Granted no matter where he goes he is going to split time. I am sure he wants to be on the side of 25-30 minutes.
