NCAAT Discussion Thread

UNC did not deserve a bid, that we can both agree on. However, I honestly believe that UL's 8 seed represents an even bigger injustice. I say that for several reasons, first there was no assurance that WVU would receive the invitation even had UNC not been invited. Remember there were 3 other "last 4 in" who could have been taken WVU's well deserved spot.

It is UL's seeding that cannot be justified, which explains the absence of any answer when Bubba was asked to explain why UL was seeded 8. My argument on behalf of UL is primarily based on the final AP & Coaches Polls prior to selection Sunday; specifically when anyone can see that all of the seeding followed along the lines of the polls, with UL being the only one excetion. Some have suggested that was a result of the ACC's poor performance, but even that argument is flawed when considering that #16 rated Memphis recieved a 6 seed, while their AAC failed to obtain another invitation.

Pro Day In The Ville

A lot can happen in a month before the draft, but Shough's stock went from a late round draft pick at best, to now a possible second or third rounder. I think the third or fourth round is most likely. His knocks are his age and durability. Chris Weinke and Brandon Weeden were almost 30 when they got drafted, so age isn't that big of a deal. And Tyler is well past his injuries.

Just read this article

Just read an article about HVL saying that she had suicidal tendencies in her early years in college. Her early years would be the years she spent at Louisville has anyone ever heard this said about her?

I didn’t know this for certain, but you could kind of see it in her play. She was not a team player, and her play was at times spectacular and at other times spectacularly erratic. You could see how ultra competitive she was. And I’m sure Coach Walz, like the great coach he is, wasn’t shy about praising and criticizing her where it was needed, so that had to be painful for her.

Even though we lost Sunday, I was happy for Hayley - her game has matured greatly, and she’s now the complete player. She even seems to recognize that her game is not bombing three pointers all the time.

UofL Players Into Portal

So I hate NIL and the portal. Why? Because of all the players possibly to return, Hadley makes the most sense as a key player that Kelsey needs to continue his rebuilding. He has one year under his belt under Kelsey's system. He's a team leader. Scott is important but he's not vital. All due respect, the guys who were injured, we really don't know how they will pan out. The freshmen didn't play enough. I think if you lose Hadley you're still rebuilding. Maybe that's going to be how it always is from now on.

Definitely unless the rules change, we’re going to be rebuilding the team every year. Like you, I am going to miss the part of the game where we get to watch a player develop from a little used sub into a star over the course of their four years at UofL. Sadly, that’s going to be the very rare exception rather than the rule.
