BYU 3 to 4 Million Dollars?

I agree that all the good players in football and basketball were going to about 5 to 10 teams depending on the sport. Now you have all schools paying money up front and it has taken away all the good players from going to just a few schools. In football they have cut the roster size by 50 players and those guys who would have gone to Alabama, Notre Dame, Georgia, etc will be going to other schools. They are leveling the playing field. Unfortunately at the same time a lot of high school athletes won’t be getting scholarships.

Here is my two cents'

Tha classic “Be careful what you wish for….” 😉

Right now, the ones it hurts most are those who are paying for a lot of it.

Fans

And, I truly believe some players downs the road are going to have serious financial problems thru overspending, NOT making the league (or at a reduced salary) and TAXES!!

It going to be a rude awakening for some.

Of course all we will hear is MORE of how the poor “kids” were “taken advantage of”
🙄🥱
The economic model doesn’t work. College sports will die, and it will shock many who won’t believe how fast it falls. The only way out is to go to a scheme with player contracts and a salary cap to include coaches and administrators. There also needs to be stronger academic standards and a player bonus for graduation in four years.

Here is my two cents'

I get but nothing really changed. Money has always been a factor. Players have all came and went they just do it faster and are paid in the open. I am not a fan of where it is going but the results have been fun to watch.
It still is a good product to watch. All the home games were entertaining. Louisville was able to build a legit roster.

The downfall and it is coming will the SEC and Big Ten arrogance. The playoff is good for college football. IU, Arizona State, Boise St and SMU all have a shot at a title that is awesome. It has teams from all 3 time zones. It has incredible 1st round games. It is just packaged differently. Remember when all the big bowl games were on New Year Day? It was awesome. Now you get it next weekend. As a college football fan what more can you want?

It will expand but the ACC and Big 12 need to fight for equal representation. The reality is for the TV people they need the ACC and Big 12 to be good. It generates more viewership. It introduces more fanbases to watch their product. The end game may not change but the road to get there changes every year. It is the best soap opera or TV series ever. The SEC and Big want to blow it up because they want more teams that can’t win it either. That is their arrogance and the TV folks greed. Hopefully, next weekend is a ratings juggernaut.

You never hear the great story of Arizona State without the playoff. SMU who was sentenced to death because they cheated better than Texas counterparts is now playing for a chance to win a title. Yeah let’s blow all this up to get more 3 loss SEC teams in. Greed and arrogance has killed a lot of good things. The Roman Empire eventually failed.
There are 4 times zones

Clarkson?

Is everyone else kinda surprised he hasn't enter the portal? I believe most fans think his lack of PT in his redshirt freshman season would have him moving on?

But maybe there's a reason he hasn't and that is Brohm is going to start him for the bowl game? If Tyler Shough opts out, why wouldn't Brohm start Clarkson? It's a perfect audition. Brohm may currently be preparing for Clarkson to start.

I wonder.

What I do know is if Shough opts out and Brohm doesn'tstart Clarkson, he probably couldn't get to the portal fast enough.

So who plays?

Like I said. He could make people take notice with a great game.

Or he could look like crap with the 2nd string playing with him.

I would take count of who is, and isn’t, playing in the bowl before making a decision.
Well, when it comes to skill players, he should be fine. Bell, Huggins-Bruce and Hicks should be available if they don't enter the portal, and the freshman backs if they're coming back. Of course if everyone transfers then yeah, he probably wouldn't play.

I think most of the OL who has eligibility remaining, would play but again I don't know for sure.

I can't believe we're going to have all opt outs and transfers with this bowl game, but it could happen I suppose. As it is now, I think Shough will play unless Brohm wants to play Clarkson? It is interesting that the valued recruit hasn't entered the portal yet.

So who plays?

That would be a mistake in my opinion. He's no sure thing draft pick and he could use the bowl game to change that. The guy has missed so many college games in his career, he needs all the exposure he can get.

And he should want to play the bowl game. This is it for his college career and he has to feel its been a disappointment due to all the games he has missed. Winning a bowl game would be something I think he would like to achieve.

BYU 3 to 4 Million Dollars?

i love it!!!! just a few years ago every top player was going to one of five schools who had deep roots under the table payment systems in place to essential bribe adn pay kids. now it's all open and those blue blood schools no longer control the top talent. and is why NIL is the greatest thing to ever happen to college sports fairness. UK, Duke UNC, Kanasa and the like used always get the top kids. rare was the kid who didn't go to these schools. Now BYU is out bidding everyone. You can go from zero to national champ back to zero again in 15 months and it's awesome. you may not win the title btu every school int he country with a rich booster is now in the game. that's over 330 D1 schools that can realistically buy a title. before it was ten tops.
I hate it.. It needs some refining at the very least. Need to have salary caps and contracts.. This whole thing was designed so kids could get royalties off T shirts and video games or make commercials for local businesses. It was not intended for pay for play sports.. It's ruining college sports in my opinion..
