Always loved the Basketball played by Kentucky teams. Kentucky, Louisville and Murray State my favorites. Lately I have found myself pulling more for Pitinos Cardinals and less for Cals bunch of lottery picks. Plus there are not now or will there be any Kentucky kids on the cats roster in the forseeable future. I will always remember the way Rick brought us back from the dark days, back to national prominence and what could have been three championships. I like the way he coaches and brings the most talent out of his players. Therefore I would like to put the Cardinals at the forefront and officially become a Louisville fan. GO CARDS!

I always pulled for Louisville in their big games and was a proud Kentuckian when they won the title in 2013 and back when they won during the Darrell Griffith years. But as a true Kentuckian, in the 50's & 60's I pulled for all Ky teams including WKU close to my home town. Two brothers got degrees from WKU and one worked with Haskins for 4 years at WKU. State basketball pride went away with nation wide recruiting. BTW, you got your like.....But I might rescind it after a good night's sleep.

Matt Hayes of The Sporting News laid the term "Louisville's Play Toy" on the Cats FB team during Petrino 1.0 era. Slapd!cks was Petrino 2.0 himself. Going further back, Bluebellies was a term used by JLS B4 he found out he already occupied his place on the food chain.
Welcome aboard, youngster! I say that in jest b/c you are only slightly younger than I.
We grew up in an era where there wasn't much to root for in regards to the state of Kentucky except for the HS and college BB teams. We followed the HS stars to college where (aside from the OVC teams) they operated in separate universes. The 1st time I ever rooted against UK in BB was when they faced WKU in 1971 and it was simply b/c Western's starters were all homegrown talent. A different time, a different place.
I take supreme enjoyment in the fact that the media and our own coaches coin the nicknames we use for the slappies. We as fans don't have to come with our own which are typically contrived.
Just one more reason why it's great to be a U of L fan.
