Okay, the state of Coppin must be the worst D1 team in college hoops to be 17.5 underdogs to Louisville. How did Vegas come up with this line?

Now I'm as big of a Cards fan as anyone, having followed the hoops program since the 1980 championship, and I have never bet actual money against Louisville. But how can I not now that Sportsbook betting is now legal in Kentucky?

It just looks like free money tonight. Now I want so bad for KP's second team to be much better than last season, but it's not looking that way. I don't have to imagine much the amount of cash I would have made last season as the Cards were mostly favored against all those cupcakes they lost to.

Now it's legal but can a true Louisville Cardinals fan bet against their team to make money and not feel like a heel? It's a question I never, ever thought I would take seriously throughout the decades of following my hometown team.

I wonder how many Cards fans are going to bet that 17.5?

Coppin State is arguably the worst team in D1 basketball. They rank 360 of 362 teams in the latest KenPom ratings while Louisville ranks 183. Louisville is bad but Coppin State is on another level bad. Just awful. For comparison, UMBC, the worst team the Cards have played to date, is currently ranked 269.

I believe the spread opened at +18.5. Cards should win this one by 20+. I'm not betting it that's for sure.

If the Cards were to somehow lose this game, cancel the season.

I know what your point was, just having some fun with a terrible situation. Louisville is not just bad but they excel at making other bad teams look good and play better than they should. Not saying UL won't win but kp will do his worst to make sure it's close
