Let's forget Houston

Maybe now we can stop relying on what Houston does when it comes to the Cards playoff chances. It was getting ridiculous with so many including ESPN pundits writing off the Cards because of what some team in the AAC does. Yes, it would have been nice if Houston was undefeated and ranked #6 when we play them, but if we beat them like SMU is doing would that had made much of a difference in the scheme of things? Pundits would just say we proved Houston was overrated.

It has always been what Louisville does in receiving a playoff bid. If we do to our remaining opponents what we did today against NC St, that should suffice if one of the undefeated power 5 programs lose a game. (Baylor, Washington) This total resume thing only means so much. Washington hasn't and won't play one top 5 team and the Cards have played two.

Houston is a non power 5 team and their recent play has proven it. Now their game against Louisville will be to salvage something from their once promising season. The Cards will need to be ready and that's all that matters now when it comes to Houston.

We could go undefeated the rest of the way out and will be on the outside looking in unless Clemson loses two games. Anything else is speculation.

I could have said you're forming a lotta premature conclusions. What would you have preferred?...

Tha would have been a top ten college game day matchup and at this point if Louisville drops that game you can probably forget a BCS level bowl. If you don't want to depend on other schools you have to win out.
