Mason was technically never enrolled in a class at Colorado, so there’s a grey area in the NCAA rulebook allowing him to still be in the transfer portal. Mason wanted to be closer to home and his child.
He’s actually taking an unofficial visit to Louisville today.
Louisville never went behind Colorado’s back at all, people actually reached out to the UL staff on Mason’s behalf. They were ecstatic to possibly add someone this talented this late in the game.
Colorado understood that he wanted to be closer to home, but funny enough, said that they were cool with him going anywhere “besides Western Kentucky”. I didn’t know there was Colorado/WKU beef, but here we are!
Injury wise, Mason is 100% already and will definitely be ready for this season. I think there’s a very good chance he’s Louisville’s starting PG.
