He has his eye on the Auburn job? With UofL being as good, if not a better job than Pudure, add that to the fact that Brohm is from Louisville as well as being a Uof L alumnus. Common sense told us that Brohm would take the Louisville job. And then there's the Auburn job. Which will probably come open after next season when Gus Malzahn buyout will be much smaller. If Brohm had taken the UL job & then the Auburn job came open after next season, it would be really hard for him to leave UL after only 1 year to take the Auburn job. But if the Auburn job came open after next year Brohm's 3rd year at Purdue It wouldn't be a problem to then take the better more prestigious Auburn job. I mean Auburn is Auburn with it's tradition, it's 87,000+ seat stadium & it's SEC membership. Auburn is one of the better coaching jobs in college football.

You didn't hear? This wasn't about anything other than loyalty to his players. Are you implying he will be less loyal next year?

What he is sayin is that the Big10 arrogance didn't want their guy leaving for little ole Louisville but leaving for Auburn would be ok.

Auburn will fire Brohm if they dont beat Bama and or the playoffs.

I think at age 47 Brohm will stay at Purdue for about three more years. Assuming he does well, he will then go to the NFL or to Notre Dame if there is an opening.

At Purdue, CJB is engaged, not married. If he wants to use success at a Power 5 school (Purdue) to eventually elevate his career to be considered for a perennial powerhouse job (think Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Alabama, Auburn, USC, etc.) he can always, without retribution from Purdue and after completing his mission, break off the "engagement". In 3-5 years (if we can keep him that long) he can move on without scorn or retribution and get a big "thank you" on the way out for getting Purdue football back on its feet.

IMHO, if he accepted the UL position now, at age 47, to come back "home", he's, in a way, now married so to speak. After rebuilding the roster, bringing your program back to it's winning ways, how the heck does he leave if he has further career aspirations or wants to take on more challenges? With the passion most of you have for your team/school, how would you all come to grips with him leaving then?

It's all about timing and he's probably not a guy ready to commit himself to one place for the next 15-20 years.
