Does this encourage him to come up and give his story? I think when he does we will realize there wasnt as much going on here as whore-tina said.

No longer being a NCAA employee, means he's no longer obligated to discuss anything.

he is not compelled to speak, since he has no affiliation to the NCAA. You guys will only get a small scholarship reduction and maybe no NCAAT this year.

Your wrong! He is compelled to speak and the fits about to hit the shan .Then you can all hang your head and go back to worship your golden Cal.

W R O N G
wrong, that he is not compelled to speak or wrong UL will get some sanctions?
Everyone has "basically admitted" that there was prostitution going on with recruits and players.
If it can't be proven, that no-one other than McGee knew of this; UL will still have to get some penalties. CRP will be safe and the program won't be crushed.

McGee said the allegations are not true IN WRITING to his now former boss, Carla Wilson.

That means he is doubling down too.

Get the popcorn out. This one is about to get real interesting now.

Well but we don't know what criminal findings are still out their from the University police and commonwealth attrnys office. So this crap is far from over and I suspect it will get much more muddier than clearer

I am glad he stated the word "False". However when you are accused of a crime you always plead not guilty. It's up to the courts too prove otherwise.

No one can be "compelled" to speak to the NCAA. His lawyer will never allow him to talk to anyone while a criminal investigation is pending. All the NCAA can do if he refuses to talk to them is prohibit NCAA schools from hiring him and draw negative inferences from his refusal to talk..

I think his written statement says a lot. Talks about "while the false allegations are being investigated" without saying that all of Powell's allegations are false. I also think it is interesting that his lawyer earlier only denied that McGee had paid Powell to provide sex to recruits/players. Didn't deny paying Powell for anything else.

Scat fans proclaim prostitution.

Quit pretending with the fake empathy of only probation, Coach Pitino is safe crap.
There is no proof.
If you asked me to wire you money because 'your car broke down', and you proceeded
to buy a key of coke, am i going to be charged with money laundering ?

This chick is a pawn. As evident by her flip flops and lifestyle choices , along
with being "Mother of the year", she isnt smart enough to try and bring down UofL.

Someone is behind her. Who is it..........

Hell if i was Andre i would ust we were in a relationship together . Seems theirs enough text and correspondence between the two to prove it. And hey i was just giving my girlfriend money, what she did with it that's her business i never told her too get the girls to have sex with anybody. She mad cause i left town

McGee's lawyer only confirmed that McGee and Powell know each other. Nothing else. If people really can't see this for what it is then they just want to see what they want to see.

This is a money grab by a self proclaimed prostitute. A PROSTITUTE who claims she sold her own children as prostitutes. It sickens me to think this woman could do that to her own children. A part of me wants this to be a lie just for that reason alone.

you're right. You blew the lid off this conspiracy.

Thanks for your contribution.
I'll put it in the toilet with the rest of the cayut fans retorts.

NEXT !
Step right up Scat fans.
I'll answer you'lls $200,000 questions.

I don't know where they come from since I've never been exposed to them. Care to explain since obviously you have? Let me guess, this is just a Louisville thang. Yeah? Just saying...

ESPN radio reports that Mcgee resigns, yet neglects to mention his statement about
fighting the false allegations.

Good job espin-roll eyes !

Well of course they ignored that tidbit of info Kerry. Telling that side of this doesn't fit the ESPN agenda regarding this story.

What agenda ?
The agenda of sensationalizing the story to fit the narrative they laid out on their network during a show called outside the lines. That agenda. Telling the OTHER side of the story doesn't get the same bang for the buck as this one is getting right now.

Eventually they'll be forced to travel down that road but not yet. The Outside the Lines program is still getting plenty of interest.

Accusations of a university employee supplying prostitutes and strippers for players, recruits and their guardians is pretty sensationalized in itself. ESPN didn't make anything up as far as I know. Didn't they simply report the story as it stood?

As it stood is correct. It's HALF of the story. It's not the full story. It's only HALF the story yet all people will now remember is this half no matter what the other half is. Got to get the ratings! Destroying lives that might not actually need to be destroyed is an after thought. Must have high ratings at all cost even if that means pushing a narrative that creates more interest without crossing ALL the T's and dotting ALL the I's. Who's got time for that?????

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Andre McGee has resigned his position as an assistant basketball coach at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Andre McGee resigns from UMKC basketball

McGee, a former player and director of basketball operations at the University of Louisville, has been on administrative leave from UMKC since Oct. 2.

"The university deserves a full time assistant coach and I am not able to provide that to the basketball team while the false allegations against me are being investigated," McGee wrote in a letter to UMKC Director of Athletics Carla Wilson.

UMKC is investigating allegations involving McGee and Louisville recruiting. The NCAA and the University of Louisville have also said they are investigating the allegations. While the investigation is ongoing, UMKC will have no further comment on the matter.

Not sure what to make of this news. At face value somewhat admirable - UKMC needs a full-time employee he can't do the job and he decides to stop taking payment for a job he's not doing. Between the lines he no longer must respond to an NCAA hearing subpoena since he is not an NCAA employee anymore. I'm not sure if that is good or bad for Louisville.

He did briefly maintain his innocence, but guys like Rafael Palmeiro did the same. It's just the American way to deny until you just can't deny anymore. He must be confident that wire has holes in it and there is no hard copy evidence to link him to this.

I hope all the facts come out.

I don't think it tells you anything. He'd have to quit one way or another - his reputation has doomed him.

If he was gonna squeal, he'd get fired anyways when the info came out.

If he wants to keep quiet and not incriminate himself, then the best way to do it is to escape the NCAA's jurisdiction by quitting.

That's the point troll. We don't know yet. I'm done feeding you. Thanks for playing.

They have reported the one side because that is the only side providing any information. As soon as UL or anyone associated with that side releases anything to contradict Powell, they will report on that as well. Any statement that has been made by the UL camp has been reported. Currently there is nothing to report from the other side because of the silence. Being silent is absolutely the best thing the UL side can do right now. I am a UK fan (in an effort to be completely transparent) but do not hate UL. Silence is their best weapon right now, IMO.

I do have a question though. I heard somewhere that McGees attorney is actually an attorney for UL. Is that accurate? In that regard, what happens if something is proven to have occurred (nothing has been proven yet)? Would that attorney not have a conflict of interest?

I am not here to troll, fan the flames, or take shots. Just looking for a conversation on a situation that may be detrimental to the state and the two flagship universities in the state.

Cool story but not really true - Andre McGee stepped down today and claimed innocence but ESPN only reported he stepped down.

He had already claimed innocence through his attorney so it was nothing new. Nothing I said was factually inaccurate. They reported on McGee stepping down. This is a direct quote taken from espn's web page in the McGee article...

"The university deserves a full time assistant coach and I am not able to provide that to the basketball team while the false allegations against me are being investigated," McGee wrote in a letter to UMKC athletic director Carla Wilson."

Espn did report that he claimed innocence. Powell is doing everything she can to keep it in the news with her media appearances because she is trying to sell her book. As soon as UL starts fighting back, their side will be in the news just as much. UL can't do that until they complete their own investigation. It is the smartest decision they can make.

Not arguing (well I guess I am) but only because I included verification in my previous post that ESPN did in fact report on his statement of innocence because it was the first from him since his attorney issued that statment. If he was making the media rounds, you would see more stuff from the UL side in the news.

Here it is again...

ESPN didn't report his quote when they broke the story that he resigned. I'm not arguing that they aren't now, but his first statement wasn't included in the initial news this morning by some outlets. And on ESPN's ticker, they only mention he has resigned, they don't quote him, because for ESPN his side of the story is off the agenda.

You claim the media is sharing both sides equally, or will when there is news to present, which is laughable it's never like that for the accused, so I'm not speaking about being a homer- it goes for all accused parties in scandal situations.

You also responded to me saying nothing new was to report which is showing you're not really thinking it through - the key person in the story broke his silence and you said "nothing new" and that is of course not true. He's standing firm and putting it in print not through a neutral party.

I think we've covered this one.

Have a good weekend.

Scott Cox is not a university attorney. He's a former federal prosecutor who now does defense work. He met RP through mutual friends and they have been friendly acquaintances for a number of years. He is generally thought of as the best defense attorney in Louisville and one of the best in Kentucky.
