1/8/22 LOUISVILLE AT FLORIDA STATE GAME THREAD- 8:00 PM ESPNU

Yeah, it's hard to slow a game down that's 50-40 at the half, but UofL has to figure out a way to do that if they want to steal this one. It is true one dude broke this game open.

Agree. Have to try to slow it down and grind them out. Running and gunning with them is a mistake.

Really want to see Mack make some adjustments on their shooters.

It’s funny how Louisville and FSU have reversed roles in athletics. They beat us repeatedly in basketball and we beat them repeatedly in football.

Hoops is about confidence and it's contagious. FSU were no doubt bummed coming off a blowout loss at Wake Forest. But their next game was at home against a team they have been dominating.

This led to good practices as redemption from the ugly loss was just a few days away. In this game they look so casual as they shoot their shots, like they know they're going to make a lot because of who they're playing.

Louisville has to take that away and make it not seem so easy. How and if that can happen in the 2nd half is anyone's guess. So far this season, I just don't know what to think about this Cards team.

Except its apparently against the rules for Louisville to get its fair share of loose balls and long rebounds.

The only way we win this game is taking some steady 3 point looks and hitting 40%

They just seem longer and more athletic at every position. Maybe that is because they are. They've lost a lot of guys to the NBA but still seem to reach to get a few replacements.

But they aren't too good this year, I will say without looking it up it feels like they had to pause a long time because of COVID.

It's all about FSU's shooting. Cards were right there with them but like most teams, the Cards hit a dry spell and FSU did not. And when they would miss a long shot, they get the long rebound.

It's a perfect storm Louisville is facing and I anticipated it.

All the rebounds are long because of all the perimeter shots and Louisville has never been fortunate with long rebounds .

Their big is walking every time he gets the ball down low. Watch his feet when he has the ball away from the basket and he turns to face the basket.

For the fans who are concerned about our attendance look into the FSU arena there are a lot of empty seats. I watched 3 games today and all 3 games had a lot of empty seats.

Cards showing great grit but I believe the refs are going to make it very hard to win this game. All FSU has to do is drive to the goal. Hopefully they're not great free throw shooters.

They are currently 5-10 so maybe they will keep missing if it comes down to that

The problem with playing so many players it is hard to get into rhythm. The players also aren’t familiar with each and we have turnovers.

Looking like a hump game. Cards have a mighty big hump to get over with FSU. The Noles are getting most loose balls and all the long rebounds and the Cards are being targeted by the refs.

Well it is crunch time if we are going to pull this out we need better rebounding, better defense and scoring. I think the thing that hurt us this game is the lack of rebounding. We usually rebound better as a team but not this game.
