The 2012 Final Four team got demolished by 30 points at Providence, couldn't score jack squat most of the season, and lost to South Florida on senior night. The 2013 National Championship team lost 3 games in a row in conference play- I think two of which were to unranked teams- and included that mind bogglingly bad 5 OT fiasco at Notre Dame.
But you know how all that ended up. Does that guarantee a similar outcome this season? No. But it does prove that most people only remember the final outcomes of the season and then look back at those teams with mostly rose colored glasses as if they never struggled, had terrible games, or tough times.
