Versatility

One thing, among many, that impressed me was how versatile this team appears to be.

There isn't one go to guy but several. I love that 1-4 and sometimes 1-5 positions on the court can handle the ball, pass, shoot, and defend. How many times the last few seasons did only having 1 or 2 guys being able to handle hurt the team?

So many lineup possibilities depending on the matchup, and also makes the Cards hard to defend against.

UK Football vacating wins

Looks like we're going to find out if vacated wins actually count as wins in their minds now.

UK sucks

"As a result of the agreed-upon resolution, Kentucky faces two years of probation and a fine. It must also vacate records of any wins that the ineligible players participated in. Kentucky's vacated wins will likely come from the 2021 and 2022 seasons given the timeline of violations noted in the NCAA's announcement. Kentucky posted a 17-9 record in that span. Ten of those wins came during a 2021 campaign in which the Wildcats won the Citrus Bowl and finished the year ranked 18th in the AP Top 25."

Denny Crum's custom granite headstone dumped into Red Sea by Houthi pirates

Susan Sweeney Crum, spent months making sure the custom granite headstone was made exactly how she envisioned. Earlier this year, after it was handcrafted in India, it was loaded on a cargo ship en route to the top of hillside on the most famous corner of Louisville's most famous cemetery.

But it didn't make it. The elaborate monument now sits at the bottom of the Red Sea.

Why Denny Crum Has No Headstone Yet

"The granite we have is called India Red, which means it actually came from India," Sweeney Crum said. "The monument was on the way over here, but now, it's at the bottom of the Red Sea."

She's not kidding. After months of planning for the perfect way to honor Crum's life, the monument was finished overseas. But as tensions between Israel and Hamas heated up, so did Houthi pirate attacks on cargo ships traveling nearby waters.

Ball movement, team play

So far the biggest difference from this team and the past two seasons is these Cards players understand offensive concepts. They anticipate the pass and know where they're suppose to be on the court.

The ball movement and team play was a sight for sore eyes. The defensive pressure was impressive as well. Of course there's still a long way to go, but tonight's performance was better than any of the past two seasons under KP.

Whether the credit is due to Coach Kelsey or the experience level of the players or both, I think we Cards fans are going to have a fun basketball season.
