I love this Chris Mack answer...

Louisville's Coach Chris Mack was asked how much he addresses last year's UofL-UK game. He says not much, but added... "As a competitor, if you haven't internalized that and thought about that 90-61 ass-whooping then (pause) I don't want you on my team."

It fits with my opinion that Mack will be GOOD for the rivalry: https://louisville.rivals.com/news/3-reasons-why-chris-mack-will-be-good-for-the-rivalry

Just a reminder as to just how bizarre 2018 UL FB was .......

The same GT team that scored 66 points on us here in Louisville just a few months ago, could only manage 10 points against a 7-6 Minnesota team in their Bowl game. GT never punted against us, and while I could appreciate Clemson and Alabama domination ............ the GT game more than any other event provided evidence of serious internal issues with this team. Satterfield and his staff face a huge challenge in finding out what prompted these kids to quit, and how soon can the culture change?

Sick and Tired

Literally I'm sick and tired, but you know what gets my goat is the way the NCAA gets a yellow streak up its back any time a favored football team such as Alabama or Clemson, both suspending players for the next game, is given a pass and not scrutinized at the same level as other universities when they are in non-compliance with the rules as written. The NCAA is a well oiled machine that can go as fast or slow as they want. And I believe that anything that may take money out of their pockets is a determining factor in their decision making process. In addition, Saban and Swinney are about as gutless as the NCAA, basically saying to every football loving fan out there, kiss my backside we're looking into it. I'm telling anyone who will listen this is a perfect example of the tail wagging the dog. Thanks for hearing me out, I'm still sick and tired but I feel better now

2018 a Good Year?

Looking back it would appear that 2018 was a sorry year for Card fans and to me it certainly was worse than usual. But if you take a long-term view of the events of the past year things look much brighter.
First of all we replaced the coaches in the most high-profile sports that needed to move on. Who would have guessed five years ago that Bobby Petrino was good for only four seasons and that was it? That he was totally incapable of managing a DI football program. Is there even one Card fan that doesn't think we are better off football-wise than we were a year ago? I haven't met or heard of one. I am already looking forward to football season and six weeks ago I was dreading next season and wondering if my life-time tickets still had any value.
And basketball is so much more fun without the drama and chaos that seemed to accompany our former coach. The UK game is upon us and I haven't heard one comment about that 'wonderful' program down the road. Although UofL's talent level is inferior on paper to the opponent I actually feel as if we have a chance to win. Simply because our coach isn't psyched out about the opposition and their superior position in the pecking order of college basketball. To our present coaching staff it is the next game on the schedule with a little extra incentive because it is a 'rivalry' game.
There is not one sport at UofL that in my opinion doesn't have the best coach and best facilities to compete for a national championship. Even the loss of the superb Ken Lolla doesn't depress me since he chose to move on and I am very excited about his replacement.
At this point in the athletic calendar we have an undefeated women's basketball team and a potential championship baseball team due to kick off next month.
All-in-all I think Card fans have a lot to look forward to and we saved a few bucks in the process.

Protect the House!!

I was scrolling on Facebook and came across the video of Sosa hitting that 3 to win the game against UK.
What struck me was his reaction after the shot. What I believe were the words ' Our House '

I don't believe over recent years there's been that pride in our teams to protect ' Our House '

It doesn't get mentioned much ,but it should and I think CM is leading the resurgence of the theme and the pride that goes along with protecting The House.

Breaking: Collision Course Gathering - Final Plans!!!!!!

We will schedule two gatherings one for those in town over the holidays and another for those who will be out of town or have conflicts due to the holidays.

Thursday, December 27th 6:30pm @ Saints

Wednesday, January 9th at 7:00pm @ Saints (UofL plays Pitt at 8pm)

I will contact Cliff Amos at Saints and see if he can reserve the area in the back of the bar to the right. There are several tables there and good access to the bar.

It's amazing how much people want to meet up given how often we're throwing snowballs at one another on the board! Christmas spirit at work I guess! LOL!

I'll post this out on the open board as well.

GO CARDS!

ACC Bowls

Memphis vs. Wake. Pulling for Memphis, Wake’s Coach is a total DB.

Notre Dame vs. Clemson. Pulling for ND. Rushing the field after every game, using $2 bills, and rubbing a rock is just odd & cult like.

I’ll be for the rest of the Conference members in their respective bowls.

Also, I’ll be rooting for Penn State. If there is anything more disgusting than the not so distant past behavior at Penn State, it’s the Ky fanbase.

Enjoy!
