Those guys played their butts off yesterday. Everyone likes to talk about the running backs, and we have some very good ones. But, they don't go anywhere without some solid blocking. So hat's off to the big uglies. They came in there and flat out took care of business.

During the telecast of the Louisville vs Clemson game the commentators explained that the Louisville defense had abandoned the helmet communication technology that was introduced to college football this season. They said that Louisville has struggled all season with communication through the helmet speaker and led to breakdowns on defense that we all have witnessed and lamented. Going back to traditional signal calling and a supposed simplification of the defensive scheme has apparently led to this recent success of the BC and Clemson defensive performances. One now has to wonder what could have been if the Cards had decided to make this change prior to the SMU game after seeing the issues in South Bend. The SMU loss weighs more heavily on my mind as it was an ACC matchup and the Cards I believe were the better team. A win there would have put the Cards at 7-2 and in contention for another appearance in the ACC Championship Game. It's all water under the bridge now, just too bad the staff didn't have the idea to make this change earlier in the season. Always easier to Monday morning QB these things.......at the end of the day I'm so happy they figured it out and allowed for this HUGE win over Clemson. A HUGE monkey off the back of this program and fanbase.

In their only loss - Georgia - Georgia is 20th defensively in yards allowed per game. Clemson scored a total of 3 points against UGa.

It’s always a good week when UL wins and UK losses; but the way things played out in Kroger Field last night suggests that Stoops and UK have some under-lying issues that suggest that more than just injuries and poor performance are contributing to their decline. If there was ever a time to beat Auburn it was this season, and the way Auburn abandoned their pre-game strategy of passing the football in favor of running against UK’s “vaulted front four”, it exposed more than just UK’s defense. Stoops and his staff have lost control of their team.

I watched UK give both UGA and Ole Miss much more than I had ever expected, and it raised concerns as to just how UL would be able to win. Everything has changed, as it appears the players may “have packed it in”. For those UL fans questioning our own fundamental tackling, there is some consolidation in watching UK give up 220+ yards to Hunter when most of the yardage was after contact.

It’s a long way off, but we must beat UK this year regardless of what we do between now and then.

I have to say I'm surprised and disappointed we haven't seen Clarkson this season. If he has star potential, one would think he could get some "Wildcard" formations or goaline opportunities for a RPO.

I think Brohm could use a run threat QB as a change up, giving the offense more options. Some zone reads on those short yardage plays.

But it seems to me he must not be the obvious next big thing or he would get some play packages I would think?

Who thinks Brohm will have another tall, dropback QB from the portal to start next season? Or will Clarkson get the chance?

The difference in this team than the last two is night and day. It's unbelievable just how much smarter basketball players these guys are over the last two seasons.

They may not win 25 games or anything like that, but they know where to be, where to go on a basketball court. They all seem to know their strengths and play accordingly instead of what we saw the past two seasons where guys were trying to do things they were not all that good at doing.

They're also much better shooters and finishers around the basket. The only thing they're not better at so far is free throw shooting.

Now, another Sunshine State native at tailback is ready to roll with Jeff Brohm and company. After a Thursday morning decommitment from James Madison, Venice (Fla.) High School star Jamarice Wilder has committed to Louisville.

The Cardinals offered the senior on Wednesday evening and he'll make his first trip to campus in November.
