It's probably already been discussed, but the structure of this year's schedule blows.

Two gimmes to start the season, early bye week, some normal home and aways, then away from home for over a month with another bye week tossed in there. Ok, rant over. Looking ahead, I think where we are at with this team is bowl eligibility is the only prize remaining. We need two wins. That could come at BC tomorrow. I'll rephrase that. It absolutely has to come at BC tomorrow, because the wins are going to be extremely hard to find. Forget Clemson. That's an L. At Stanford- ok, they aren't very good, but that's still going to be a challenging road trip. Pitt will be an extremely tough out, as will UK, I don't care what their record is. So, the question is, can the Cards muster two wins to become bowl eligible? Two stinkin' wins is all we need. It sucks this is where things are, but it's reality. The defense is a major liability.

Ravens loss looks familiar

Lamar and the Ravens looked a lot like Louisville today against the Browns. A combination of just bad luck and stupid play calling leads to just plain bad football.

Ravens secondary looks like Louisville's allowing receivers to run wide open down the field. They made Jamison Winston look like he did ten years ago.

Playcalling near the goal line looked very familiar to this Louisville fan, twice failing to score.

Maybe I'm the jinx?

How come I don’t feel good about

the rest of the season? We won last night and I should be happy but my disgust is for this conference I’ve come to hate so much. I don’t feel like we have a chance in most of the upcoming games due to the obvious bias this conferences leadership has for us.
I don’t want to hear how Louisville should play through it and win every game anymore because that’s a dumb take. Officiating matters, especially in key parts of the game when they hit us every game.
You can see the frustration on Brohm knowing it’s coming sooner or later in the game and honestly I wouldn’t blame him for leaving because of the way they call his games.
Just last night, offensive pass interference was allowed to free a BC receiver to run down the sideline wide open. There’s a reason they have a rule receivers can’t go block and not run a route and that was it. Ashton was held numerous times right in front of the official yet they didn’t miss a chance to call holding on us. And of course the picked up flag for pass interference, they didn’t even discuss it, the ref walked up and said pick it up.
I know I’m ranting but something has to be done and I don’t want to hear about it being bad everywhere because no team has a bullseye on its back like Louisville does from the ACC.

Indiana schedule

Wow! Has to be one of the weakest schedules in Big 10 history. No Oregon or Penn State. No Illinois or Iowa or Wisconsin or USC.

They play at OSU and that's it. They play the Michigan teams and both are average at best. Much like Washington and Nebraska.

They had three cupcakes in their non conference schedule. They may regret backing out of the Louisville game when their strength of schedule dooms their playoff chances.

OT: USF hoops coach dies suddenly at age 43. He was a rising star. RIP

Amir Abdur-Rahim passed away due to complications of a medical procedure. Whatever that was.

This guy was slaying it. And a few folks here brought him up as a candidate for our opening.

South Florida head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim died Thursday due to complications from a medical procedure at the age of 43. The former Bulls coach was survived by his his wife, Arianne, and three children.

Abdur-Rahim was an undeniably successful coach during his time at the helm of USF and Kennesaw State, as he led the Owls to their first ever NCAA tournament appearance in the 2022-23 season. Prior to his time in Kennesaw, Georgia, he served as an assistant for Murray State, Charleston, Texas A&M and Georgia.
Amir was the brother of 13 siblings, and his brother Shareef played 13 years in the NBA and is the current president of the G-League.

During his time at South Florida, Abdur-Rahim led the Bulls to their first-ever ranking in the AP Top 25 and their first ever American Conference regular-season title. This past season, he was named a Naismith College Coach of the Year semifinalist, a finalist for the Ben Jobe National Coach of the Year, and the Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year.

“In a very short time, Coach Abdur-Rahim made an indelible impact on the University of South Florida. In his first season as our head coach, he brought an unmatched enthusiasm, achieved unprecedented success and helped generate unforgettable memories for Bulls Nation,” said USF President, Rhea Law in a statement from the university. “Throughout my time working with Coach Abdur-Rahim, I was continually inspired by his leadership, and truly admired his sincere approach to connecting with our entire student body. His influence on our student-athletes, coaching staff and the university community will live on forever.”
“All of us with South Florida Athletics are grieving with the loved ones of Coach Abdur-Rahim,” said Vice President for Athletics, Michael Kelly in another statement. “He was authentic, driven, and his infectious personality captivated all of Bulls Nation. Coach Abdur-Rahim leaves a lasting impact on our student-athletes, the University, and the community. We are supporting those closest to him, including his family, team, and athletics staff, to ensure they have the resources they need to deal with this tremendous loss.”

BC streak is snapped. Great start to the sports weekend.

The last 6 games between Louisville and Boston College, the home team won.

Thankful to break that streak tonight.

But LAWD HAVE MERCY ... we sure like to let guys sneak out of the back field for wide open gains. And we also like to commit really stupid penalties in critical moments. (Yo - Quincy. You ain't blocking the kick inside the 10, so don't jump off-sides please).

Glad to win.

Also glad to watch the Yankees lose in heartbreaking fashion to the Dodgers (and Louisville's own Will Smith). Suck it beeotches.

.

Ron English

So if tonight follows the trend we have vs running QBs, any shot we move on from Ron with the longer week before Clemson? I mean Brohm has been visibly upset with him and has done everything but call him out by name. We brought back our leading tackler, runner up for DPOY in the ACC and our best DB and have been arguably the worst defense since Satt’s first year.
