Favorite QB Name in portal ....

Brohm's first two QBs from the portal.

6'5 215
6'5 225

I would wager our next portal QB is a bigger dude and not a smaller, true dual threat.

You'd definitely think this is Brohm's ideal.

Shough's touch on the deep ball will be very hard to replace. And maybe more importantly, his courage in firing the ball off. That honestly may be the difference (guts to pull the trigger) between him and Plummer.

This will be interesting to watch. Shouldn't be a long wait either.

FB RECRUITING: USC QB Miller Moss Commits To Cards

That's a weird list.

It's flattering to be on it though.

This kid carved us up in the Holiday Bowl. If that's the kid we'd be getting, it's a no brainer. But what happened since our bowl game to have him hitting the portal? Admittedly, I have paid zero attention to him this past year.

Brohm has done well finding his QB each of the past two years. I trust him to do this again.

We don't have a returning OL or at least not much of one. Mendoza, Brown, Cutler, Miller, Gonzalez are seniors. A few of them 5th year seniors. Sanker left (hopefully not a big loss but he was highest rated OL in a while). Nygra and Collins remain.
Well, those 3 are a good base. Get 3 portal guys, and hopefully you have 3-4 young players that you are developing. That gets you to the magic Number of 10. That is what you need going into the season. 8 to 10 OLine players that you feel can play quality snaps for a season. Who do we have that are currently Frosh, both True and Red shirt, and Sophs. Those are the ones that we will need to fill the gaps. Jeff will easily get 3-4 portal guys. And he knows and understands what it takes the play at the Power four level!

I agree to an extent, but it is hard to deny the $$$ plus being surrounded by those athletes while playing in SEC. Keep in mind these elite guy believe they can play anywhere.

Now of the flip side playing for Brohm in an easier conference with hopefully a loaded skill group and a returning Oline is extremely good selling point.

Impossible to predict the portal but this offense especially if the Oline returns basically intact has the potential to be ridiculous.

Coaches not impressed

I do not believe the rankings this early. UConn lost 3 games to unranked opponents, but remains in the AP at #25. Most media know they are missing Karaban and they will be a whole lot better when he returns very soon.
I hate to break it to you. Karaban played in all 3 losses, one game he was leading scorer. He played against Dayton, Colorado and Memphis.

Ravens have same problem as UoL

Just for clarification; my comments were not about the Ravens coaching and play calling over the course of this season; my comments were confined to only what I witnessed in the Ravens loss Sunday to the Eagles. There were several critical opportunities where both the Ravens OL and their DL respectively failed to control the LOS; either when needing to sustain an offensive series, or stop the Eagles defensively.
Isn't that what usually determines the better team? I'm just saying how many pieces does it take for Lamar to take them to the top? Last year they had the home field advantage in the AFC and still managed to lose.

Coaches not impressed

The disparity (I wouldn’t call it a big one, but I will acknowledge that it exists) is because coaches are too busy coaching to put any effort into doing research on teams they aren’t playing before they vote in the poll each week. I’ve always found the writers poll to be more current than the coaches poll for that very reason - writers have a little more time on their hands than coaches do.

Not a single coach who votes in the poll has played UofL yet, and the only one that will eventually is Adrian Autry of Syracuse. He doesn’t play us until Jan 14th.

The USA TODAY Sports Board of Coaches is made up of 31 head coaches at Division I institutions. All are members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The board for the 2024-25 season: Tobin Anderson, Iona; Adrian Autry, Syracuse; John Becker, Vermont; Randy Bennett, Saint Mary's; Jeff Boals, Ohio; Alvin Brooks, Lamar; Scott Drew, Baylor; Matt Driscoll, North Florida; Dan Earl, Chattanooga; Jonas Hayes, Georgia State; Alan Huss, High Point; Donte’ Jackson, Grambling; Ben Jacobson, Northern Iowa; James Jones, Yale; Greg Kampe, Oakland; Brad Korn, Southeast Missouri State; Greg McDermott, Creighton; Nick McDevitt, Middle Tennessee; Mike McGarvey, Lafayette; Niko Medved, Colorado State; Dan Monson, Eastern Washington; Chris Mooney, Richmond; Nate Oats, Alabama; Eric Olen, UC San Diego; Matt Painter, Purdue; Michael Schwartz, East Carolina; Patrick Sellers, Central Connecticut State; Zach Spiker, Drexel; Brett Tanner, Abilene Christian; Stan Waterman, Delaware State; Jeff Wulbrun, Denver.
