One of the biggest reasons they went to 5 World Series was their pitching staff. It wasn’t great but it was really good.

I can’t emphasize enough how bad it is to play on teams that have no pitching. We played at Parkway so our teams never had good pitching depth. It was a cracker box. It messes everything up, fielding and hitting. Can’t have an error because the staff will fold. Can’t have a bad day hitting because the staff gets torched.

McDonald is lost. Small example but in the 1st inning they get 1st and 2nd with their best hitter up he decides to bunt Rose. WTF like 2 runs is going to hold up with this pitching staff. It is early go for the big inning instead they just give an out away. Why would he even think that way after watching this pitching staff.

I don’t think they have been silent about it. I remember last year there being a push from 502Circle to raise 250K for the women’s team and there would be a donor to match it, similar to the push they did for the men but on a much smaller scale. But it wasn’t promoted as much as the men’s. I remember seeing it mentioned by 502Circle maybe once or twice but that was it, and I’m not even sure much came of it.

I think it has been communicated but the visibility or reach I guess of the communication is not there. I know during one of Walz’ radio shows during a break it was mentioned that a coach we compete against had 3x the NIL money to work with than we do. I also know UK had at least twice more than we did this season.

It’s something that needs to be addressed or we will continue to fall further and further behind.

The teams will become for-profit corporations independent but affiliated with universities. The players will work for the corporations. The universities will have working agreements with the teams. The teams will have relationships with the corporations and their investors. Teams will be free to switch university deals. Players will work under league rules. And be paid and move around under league rules.

I agree that he has probably told the people that matter what he needs and the main donors just haven’t supported. I guess I am curious how far they are off. I can’t imagine they are that far behind others. Maybe if fans knew what needed to be raised they would be more willing.

The recent roster construction hasn’t been good. Does TCU, Kansas State, Duke UK or Oklahoma really have that much money than Louisville for women’s basketball? Oklahoma has something going on since the just landed the #1 player in the country.

Like baseball something is off. Not terrible by any means just off.

I see a lot of people say this, and I love Sam. He was a great recruiter no doubt. But if it’s solely because we lost him how come he hasn’t replicated that same success at Mississippi State?

To me, it’s not a coincidence that when NIL came into play, the amount of success that we are used to having here kinda tailed off. I think that is the major issue. We don’t have enough money in order to get the elite players here anymore. Walz is doing the best with what he has, but our program is clearly behind others in that aspect.

Remember the day when grade point average for your team was a big deal? No need to worry about that anymore.

I do think Jeff has expressed this fact.

As far as recruiting. I’ve stated it multiple times. Our recruiting has gone down since adding Pineda and Robinson.

While Arenas showed flashes. She also:
Was out of control at times
Defensively was weak
Just made mistakes

I think she could have developed and been a good player. But, many think they should play a lot immediately. Her brother also decided to play for USC. My guess is she runs out there.
